Plain White Dress: Saskatchewan folk artist Jackie K sends us into a timeless dream on Sister Of Stone

Taken from her brand new 10-track album called She’s a Story, Jackie K guides us deeper into that Brandy Clark-like class and passion with the supreme new single Sister Of Stone.

Jackie K is a Saskatchewan, Canada-based indie folk singer-songwriter who makes those profound soundtracks which might invoke sentimental long-lost feelings.

This album is more personal than anything else that I’ve recorded before,” says Jackie K, “but most of the stories aren’t mine.”

Dropping us into a meaningful story which has a carefully snow-bound feeling which will open up more love, Jackie K is brilliant form and sends us into a whole new universe to calm those weary eyes.

Sister Of Stone from Saskatchewan, Canada-based indie folk singer-songwriter Jackie K is a rather emotional single which is rather cinematic and vocally stunning. Pure all the way throughout and sizzling with so many calming melodies made from the heart, this is a supremely soul-healing effort for us all to calm our nerves for the better.

Binky – Jackie D: A Captivating Splicing of Country & Urban Pop

If there’s a contemporary artist with vibes infectious enough to bring Country into the Pop scene, it’s without doubt London based Urban Country singer songwriter Binky. Whilst it may seem like an unusual approach to sound, I still haven’t got over how well her soulfully unique and captivating vocals resonated over her up-vibe, instrumentally rhythmic new single Jackie D. I can honestly say I’ve never heard so many immersive hooks in a Country track.

If you could imagine a cross over between Kate Nash & Dolly Parton, you’d get an idea of Binky’s vibrantly bewitching sound. Using her inspiration from artists such as Carrie Underwood, Stevie Nicks and Gretchen Wilson she creates a pioneering amalgamation of sounds inspired by a variation of moods and genres. The passion behind Binky’s latest single is tangible, her lyrics are pensively crafted to reflect a period of her own life, isn’t raw, brutal honesty just the sweetest sound?

You can check out the official video to Jackie D on YouTube, you’ll probably be hearing it blasted on Radio 2 soon enough anyway.

Tojuso has found those helpful fireflies again on ‘Too Much Fun’

After carefully rebranding the technique and boldly reconstructing his crew, Tojuso pays respect to the excellent skills of multi-instrumentalist star Tash Sultana with the memorable single that drops deep insight on ‘Too Much Fun‘.

Tojuso (formerly known as Jackie Spade) is an award-winning Kinston, North Carolina-based indie alternative artist who seems to make those introspective underground gems with ease.

Wondering what is everlasting and if his endearing efforts will matter in the end, Tojuso definitely has the right idea and designs a tight track that might remind many of early Akon. Packed with honesty and not letting that pride get in the way, this is a strum-with-me single that has all the elements needed to heal a wounded heart.

Too Much Fun‘ from Kinston, North Carolina-based indie alternative artist Tojuso feels like a hugely personal track about realizing that there are way too many overly curious eyes plotting his downfall. Laced with paranoid thoughts, self-assured confidence and plenty of muscle in the middle, this is a memorable track made with a slick style to add that extra oomph into your morning coffee.

Binky – Get Lost: Soulfully Vibrant Country Pop

Earlier this year we were captivated by Binky’s single Jackie D, and well, she’s gone and done it again with her latest single Get Lost. Yet, it’s clear that in the three months since the London based Country Pop released her last single she’s worked even harder to perfect her sound, how far she has come in such a short time is absolutely staggering.

Instrumentally, lyrically, and vocally Get Lost is absolutely flawless, polished to perfection and as anthemic as music comes. The jangly up-vibe of the instrumental arrangements provide the perfect platform for Binky to lay down her soulfully vibrant vocals in the sun-soaked radio ready track which is Get Lost. At this point I should probably point out that the lyricism isn’t as abrasive as the title would suggest; it may well just be the feel good track of the summer. There’s a beautifully Folkish quintessence which weaves around the more traditional Country Pop style, as the track progresses you can expect infectiously catchy hooks, intricately orchestrated instrumentals and a vocal arrangement that should be enough to strike fear into the rest of the contemporary female Pop artists. In fact, if you listen carefully enough, you can probably hear Mumford and Sons audibly quaking.

A&R Factory Present: Tae Brooks

Tae Brooks (18) was born into a musical family of songwriters and producers. Nephew of multi Grammy nominated producer/songwriter Chuck Brooks, Tae started his singing career at the early age of 10 as a background vocalist for artists recording in his family’s garage studio. At a talent audition in 2010 in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio Tae was recruited by a Los Angeles talent manager, which in time led to his family relocating to LA to pursue increasing opportunities in both acting and music. Tae’s brother, Tadjh Brooks, stepped into the role of Tae’s lead music producer and engineer. The brothers, working in the studio with their father, Billay, emerged with a hybrid pop/urban sound reflective of Tae’s multicultural background. Tae was introduced to the world with the launching of his YouTube music channel in March of 2011.

Tae and his team quickly became known for overhauling cover songs and creating signature originals that allow Tae to showcase his naturally soulful voice. His YouTube content has generated over 5 million views. Brooks’ first single “Thumbs Up” was released on iTunes February 22, 2011 and was well received. His covers have ranked among the top on the sites of The Huffington Post, Perez Hilton, Ryan Seacrest, and MusicMeetsVideo.

Visibility on YouTube led to Tae being sought out for voice-over work. He became the male lead voice of the Disney 365 theme song, was cast as the voice and singing role of Michael Jackson in the animated TV series Black Dynamite, and performed the intro/outro on the channel of popular YouTube personality Lamarr Wilson. Tae caught the attention of Canadian producer Josh Friesen, which led to him becoming a voice-over artist for GrapeSEED, a company in Japan that produces educational curriculum used in 7 countries. Soon after, he was asked to star in the video series as well, resulting in 4 trips to Japan over a 3 year period.

Between his work trips to Japan, Tae Brooks expanded his exposure with concert performances alongside major label recording artists Kalin and Myles, Round 2 Crew and other popular emerging artists. When asked to name his most memorable performance Tae says, “I had the opportunity to sing at Seacrest Studios in Children’s Hospital Medical Center back in my hometown. Just knowing my performance is still being viewed by kids dealing with serious illnesses makes that time special to me.”

Tae Brooks notoriety in music circles was recognized by Billboard Magazine who’s named Brooks #7 (2016) and #19 (2011) on the Next Big Sound chart featuring the fastest growing artists across social media. VERSEDonline named Tae one of the breakout artists for 2014. While under the management of Ebony Son Entertainment, management team of Ludacris, Tae recorded songs written by multi platinum songwriters and producers such as Ne-Yo, The Jackie Boyz, A-Rex and The Movement.

Demonstrating his own songwriting versatility, Tae independently released his co-written 5 track debut EP ‘On My Own’ on September 30, 2014. The EP included Tae’s previous single “It’s Always Been You” and two fan favorites, “Lois Lane” and “The Fire” featuring Tae’s brother Juke. The success of the EP led to charting on the iTunes Pop chart.

Tae released ‘Serenity’ Apr 23rd, 2016 and it is the lead single from Brooks’ upcoming summer EP, described by co-writer and producer Tadjh Brooks as having a “tropical funk” vibe. Check it out.
