Catt Christine, lead singer from The Freedom Ledges, shares debut solo single ‘Let’s Begin’

Catt Christine

If a CV fronting LA blues/rock mainstays The Freedom Ledges, your own Catt and the Haunted Blues, and Mojo Sonic, isn’t enough, on ‘Let’s Begin’ Catt Christine teams up with LA Funk/Soul artist and multiple award winner Cliff Beach and producer Alex Romero for this powerful slice of soul-inspired blues rock. Christine’s Grace Slick/Alannah Myles/Alison Mosshart rich vocal tears from the speakers, alternately gruff and raucous and soft and sensual, sitting atop the distorted guitar, grooving bassline, and brushed Texas shuffle drums.

Having to resort to remote recording due to the pandemic restrictions is never easy, but to get a genre like this to sound this organic, fluid, and spontaneous takes some doing; making it sound as if all the musicians are jamming in one room requires some serious production skill, yet with ‘Let’s Begin’ you can imagine the groove, Persian rugs, candles and throws, and some serious grins from the players. That’s the vibe the track conjures up, all down-home swagger and serious soul-groove. If this is just the ‘beginning’ for Christine then it bodes extremely well for what comes next.

You can hear ‘Let’s Begin’ across all major streaming platforms from February 12th, with a pre-save via Distrokid. In the meantime, check out Catt Christine on Instagram.

Paul Moleta – HEY YOUNG SOUL: A High-Vibe Infusion of Soul, Indie, Pop and Rock

Australian-born, Irish-based singer-songwriter Paul Moleta has cooked up yet another high-vibe infusion of Soul, Indie, Pop and Rock with their latest single “HEY YOUNG SOUL”. If you need a little aural pick me up, hit play and prepare to ascend with this organically exuberant radio-ready hit.

I struggle to express the extent of gratitude I hold towards artists in recent times pushing back their own negativity to create feel-good hits. HEY YOUNG SOUL serves the powerful reminder that if happiness isn’t in front of you, that doesn’t mean it will always be out of your reach. Go outside and get it.

Given that we’ve all been spending far too much time enclosed in 4 walls with our thoughts, lyrics such as “sun won’t shine inside this room” are priceless.

Mandy Brooke – Hammer: Charisma-driven Soul Pop Rock

“Hammer” is the latest single from one of the most powerfully smooth voices in Pop right now. Imagine a voice as magnetic as you’d hear from the 90s Pop icons put to a sublime Indie Rock Pop beat.

As Hammer balances soul and charisma, it’s impossible not to be snared by the catchy hooks created by the Nashville, TN artist. Many Pop artists skate by with the assistance of autotune, but with the perceptible level of strength in the vocal dynamics of Mandy Brooke there’s no need to augment the organic talent.

The up and coming artist’s ability with a fretboard also adds a distinctive dynamic to her sound. Instead of moving through the same tired old chord progressions her strumming style adds layers of hypnotic rhythm to Hammer.

Hammer was released on February 22nd 2019, head on over to Spotify to check it out for yourselves. If you figure out a way to get the chorus out of your head, let me know.
