DJ Homeboy & Kay Law brought hedonistic hypnotism to the dancefloor with their hit, 2 in 1

DJ Homeboy and Kay Law brought rhythmic hypnotism to the dancefloor with their collaboration on the high vibe, big beat hit, 2 in 1, which reimagines the 90s Europop sound as one that oscillates with an unapologetically infectious brand of hedonism that draws you right into the heat of the wanton lust.

The snappy backbeat and Afrobeat nuances keep the energy electrifying through the progressions which get catchier with every repeat listen for the way they bolster the earwormy vocal delivery from the Nigerian British singer-songwriter who can often be found genre-bending to contort her distinctively impassioned sonic signature.

We can’t wait to see the boundaries that Kay Law is set to break in 2024 and beyond after her hits have received plaudits and airplay from BBC Introducing in Summer 2022. Watch this space to see the major waves she brings down on the UK pop scene she’s destined to reign over.

2 in 1 was officially released on October 27; stream it on Spotify.

Kassia B proves that patience is a painful virtue in her progressive dance-pop track, Waited Too Long

‘Waited Too Long’ is the latest progressive dance-pop track from Kassia B, who has been captivating audiences with her evocatively dynamic vocals and prodigal talent from an almost absurdly young age. She was 15 years old when she penned her debut single during the 2021 lockdown. If any artist can prove that artistic maturity doesn’t necessarily equate with how many years you’ve existed on the planet, it is Kassia.

With a few singles behind her, she truly came into her stride with Waited Too Long which gives the teenage perspective of the pandemic through the lyrics and liberates the listener from any sense of lingering morosity with the galvanizingly euphoric build-ups and dizzying crescendos. We can’t wait to hear what follows.

Waited Too Long is now available to stream on Spotify.

Close to Monday – Kripko Spi: Transcendently Experimental Progressive Electronica

The indie breakthrough artist, Close to Monday, was one of the few artists that managed to garner international attention and affection in 2021. Based on their recently released EDM hit, Kripko Spi, Close to Monday’s success was one of the only things that made sense during our most recent perplexing trip around the sun.

With entrancing beats that would give Front 242, Covenant, and Skinny Puppy a run for their money towards the outro, it scarcely comes as a surprise that so many immersed themselves in Close to Monday’s sound that breaks the monocultural mould while creating a demurely alluring sensory experience.

With the 7-minute duration of Kripko Spi, the progressive single has plenty of time to transition from the ambience in the prelude to the dancey harsh beats. The vocals are minimalist, but every time they come to the surface, they’re nothing short of intoxicating.

Kripko Spi is now available to stream via Spotify.
