A&R Factory Present: Hazey Jane

Hazey Jane are an English folk-indie quintet from London. Hackney based, harmony driven and easily confused, the band are indebted to Nick Drake, CSNY and John Prine. From such artists, Hazey Jane have derived their own bona fide craft of songmanship, exhibited most poignantly throughout their recent live EP. Recorded at Total Refreshment Studios, Dalston, and produced by band confidant Mr Sander Van Laere, this modest collection of songs represents a departure from studio based precision and rather lays bare the musicality that Hazey Jane are all about. Prior to shacking up in East London, Bobby Bertoli (Lead Vocals) and Laurent Judson (Lead Guitar) sought a cohort of folk-loving music men to mature the songs they had been writing together since their early teens. Having first heard John Martyn in 2004, the duo had developed a shared interest in acoustic arrangements by the time they were introduced to the likes of Doves and Bon Iver. At which point Paul Jordan (Drums), Connor Smith (Bass) and Remi Saward (Percussionist) amplified Hazey Jane’s live sound and launched the band into headline slots at The Bedford, Marylebone Festival and The Barfly in 2015.

Hazey Jane continue to perform and record exhaustively around London and further afield.
