You’ll be in good company with Jones’ sardonically-sweet festive Hip Hop drop ‘Home Alone’

Jones

Breaking Texas-hailing Hip Hop artist, Jones, is set to drop their infectiously high-vibe track ‘Home Alone’; it may be the most sardonically ingenious Rona-inspired track we have heard this year.

Hit play and feel the negative emotions stemming from cabin fever and isolation slip away as Jones proves that you’ve got a choice in how you view the ‘unprecedented times’ as they unfold. The playful charisma never overshadows the talent on show in Home Alone, which, of course, pays lots of references to the cult hit Christmas film. If any Christmas track truly stands as a testament to the absurdity of 2020, it’s this one.

You’ll have to wait a little longer before you can check out Home Alone for yourselves. In the meantime, head over to Spotify and SoundCloud to check out the artist’s earlier releases.

London’s ‘Up In The Air’ is the perfect antidote to Covid-Brexit winter blues

‘Up In The Air’ by newcomer London is the perfect antidote to the current wind, rain, Brexit, and Covid-19 doleful torpor gripping the UK, a summery, upbeat, dance-y mix of R&B-inspired hip-hop and mellow, groove-filled soul. There’s a rich, deep and uplifting ascending bassline, a deliciously soulful female backing harmony part, and London’s soft, Smokey Robinson/Marvin Gaye style tuneful vocal, all lilting smoky East Coast DC vibes and summer sunshine.

‘Up in The Air’ is London’s third single, following up ‘Y.D.L.M. (You Don’t Love Me)’ and ‘5 Questions’, and it’s clear that there’s some growth going on here; all that bodes very, very well for London’s future.

Check out ‘Up In The Air’ on Apple Music and Spotify, and follow London on Instagram.

Rep has dropped their resiliently inspiring Rap track “Mighty Men” featuring Tramel, MNPLY and True Justice

Breaking US Rap artist Rep has recently dropped their game-changer of a collaborative EP But He is Strong. While each track is a hit, the standout track Mighty Men contains the inspiring resilience which we all undoubtedly need to hear more of right now.

It’s in the media’s best interest to make things seem bleak. Yet, with Mighty Men, Rep illustrated that in light of current disparity, not everyone is living in fear. There’s something incredibly powerful about hearing the convictive repetition of “I ain’t scared” around intellectually inspired introspection.

The lyrics may be grounding, but ultimately, Mighty Men EP oozes an adrenalizing, empowering energy. Anticipate a smorgasbord of emotions to be invoked when you hit play on the slick and solid contemporary feat of Hip Hop.

You can check out Rep’s 2020 EP But He is Strong for yourselves via Spotify.
