Lyrical rap luminary CIV delivers adrenalizing gritty poetry in ‘Hero’

There’s clever lyrical wordplay, then there’s the fiercely meta linguistic tussling which you’ll find in the Bronx, NY-hailing rap artist, CIV’s latest album ‘Glitched Tapes Vol.1’.

Wit and intellect run rampant through each single, but the perfect introduction to CIV’s relentlessly ingenious style is ‘Hero’.

Energetic beats which marry old school gangster rap with contemporary electronic hip hop blaze behind the bars which are a gift which keeps on giving. Hero is a track which you’ll want to hit play on until you know the lyrics well enough not to let them catch you off-guard with the gritty, clever charisma-dripping creativity.

On the basis of Hero, I can’t imagine that CIV gets invited to all too many rap battles through fear of annihilation.

Vvs1 – NEVA FLIP: Confrontationally Catchy Hip Hop

Rap trailblazer, Vvs1, is set to amass even more hype around his confrontationally catchy Hip Hop style after the release of his latest single ‘NEVA FLIP’, produced by KOBOY, released through DNA Records.

With plenty of odes to old school gangster hip hop in the high-energy grime-laden contemporary mix, raw aggression is put against chiming beats and bass-riding slams of the 808s; making sure that your attention never falters from the entrancing progressions.

With their authentic style, commercial appeal and capacity for ingeniously ominous lyrical wit, Vvs1 is more than capable of making plenty of waves in 2021 and beyond.

You can check out the official music video to NEVA FLIP which dropped on December 15th by heading over to YouTube.

Jay Rick$ brought poignantly sobering introspection into the realms of Gangster Rap with “Thug Ways”

Breaking Hip Hop artist Jay Rick$ has recently dropped their striking new single Thug Ways. Whatever your perceptions of Gangster Rap are, throw them out of the window before you hit play.

The compelling track holds up a mirror to our 21st-century reality where it’s all too clear that nothing has changed since N.W.A. used their aggression to create hit records. But that doesn’t mean that Jay Rick$’ track isn’t fresh. It drips with commercial potential. His transfixing ability to pull you right into the candidly revealing first-person perspective made Thug Ways one of the most grounding tracks I’ve heard this year.

The cutting minor notes around the rattle of the drumbeats are more than effective at setting the sobering tone. The sobering tone which will stick around long after the atmospheric track has faded to a close. We’re already stoked to hear what comes next.

Breaking Hip Hop artist Q Capone has dropped their freestyle rap hit “Gang X3”

If you love the raw and organic flow of freestyle Hip Hop, you’ll want to make room on your playlists for Q Capone’s debut single Gang X3.

Since the release of Gang X3, Q Capone has dropped two subsequent hits, yet their 2020 release Gang X3 is the best introduction to the artist’s playful and energetic approach to production.

Gang X3 may be a fairly lo-fi mix, but the high-vibe melodies will lift you up all the same while Q Capone lays down adrenalizing his bars in absolute synergy with the light warm Trap beats.

There’s little room to wonder why there’s so much hype around Q Capone and their exuberant sound. They’re definitely one to watch.

Gangster Rap Meets Dark EDM Trap in Spark I aM’s Standout Single “Eurostep”

Spark I aM’s standout Rap track Eurostep finds the perfect balance between Gangster Hip Hop and Dark EDM Trap. Naturally, the versatility of the track amplifies the commercial potential. Yet, Eurostep, like all of Spark I aM’s tracks are all about the message and resonance.

The Harlem-based up and coming artist infuses the same passion he exudes for mentorship and community youth projects into his music to create inspiringly relatable mixes. All the talent in the world could never replace what artists like Spark I aM bring to the airwaves. Although, in Eurostep, you’ll find plenty of that too.

Their lyrical waxing style may share reminiscences with icons such as Busta Rhymes, but Eurostep is so much more than just an ode to urban nostalgia with the fresh and atmospheric beats and adrenalizing energy.
