The News: David Wakeling grows furiously frustrated with humanity on I Hate Everybody

With massive dislikes for racists and cottage cheese, David Wakeling slams the door shut forever on dodgy dentists and anyone who could be a sneaky stinging wasp on the statement track I Hate Everybody.

David Wakeling is a Brockton, Massachusetts-born indie singer-songwriter who is a revered name in the game and performs with expert skill and timing.

Between global warming, continued mass shootings, politicians holding on to power for power’s sake, dictators killing innocents..yeah, kinda hate everybody.” ~ David Wakeling

After releasing his 13th and most likely last full-length album called Oddities and Curios, David Wakeling is the pinnacle of experience personified and guides us into exactly what his thoughts are. Fed up with the evil deeds of those in invisible suits, this is a song all about telling it how it really is in reality.

I Hate Everybody from Brockton, Massachusetts-born indie singer-songwriter David Wakeling is a rather exemplary effort from a truly well-respected figure in the underground. Loaded with so much insight and a real flow which can’t be taught, as he ravages into the poor performance of so many who were supposed to help humanity, not destroy it.

David Wakeling looks into the future of this dystopia in ‘Living at 45 Degrees’

With the melancholy of The Verve in their best years, the folky narrative introspection of Bob Dylan and psychedelic layers not all too far removed from the kaleidoscopic textures from The Legendary Pink Dots, David Wakeling’s seminal single, Living at 45 Degrees, hits a plethora of spots.

The Anthropocene-conscious single only runs on par with Amanda Palmer’s Drowning in the Sound in terms of the wit in the metaphors, which cleverly shine a light on the ridiculous state that humanity has shaped itself into.

It’s tracks like Living at 45 Degrees which truly prove the worth of music in society. It’s something for the minority of humans that are self-aware enough to see into the futility of existence to meld into and find reason within.

The official video for Living at 45 Degrees is now available to stream via YouTube.

David Wakeling has released his grungy jangle-pop earworm, ‘Extraordinary’.

One of Portland’s most notably virtuosic singer-songwriters, David Wakeling, has unleashed his latest absolving single, Extraordinary; a mellow yet sonically ardent aural invitation to simultaneously explore the golden eras of indie and grunge.

With the fuzz of Dinosaur Jr paired with the enlivening new wave indie jangle-pop guitars, it is a revival like no other.

With his love for rich and captivating vocal harmonies manifesting through Extraordinary that lamentedly explores expired romantic possibilities, the soundscape is one of those tragically rare cathartic hits that allows you to pour your own emotions into the progressions.

You can check out Extraordinary for yourselves by heading over to YouTube.

David Wakeling returns with brilliant ”Stolen Moments, Borrowed Time”

David Wakeling is a singer-songwriter from Portland in Oregon. He is a full time physician and his music allows him to escape the crazy world for a while. He is back with his new song ”Stolen Moments, Borrowed Time”.

This is an Original retro synth 80’s pop track written and filmed at David’s home during the wild Covid isolation times. The song is perfect for these times as it reminds us all that we are on borrowed time and need to make the most of it.

Stolen Moments, Borrowed Time” is a lovely song from sushi fan David Wakeling and this humble man who donates all of his music earnings to charity has given us a magical song that is so full of love.

The Portland singer-songwriter with a heart of gold is a terrific listen as he reminds us of being present in life. After 11 albums in his collection to date, David is a sucker for harmonies and a good story. He hope to convey those elements in his music.
