Abakas – Runaway: Alchemically Anthemic Alt Rock

If you could use some grungy, raucous aural escapism, take a journey with Norwegian breaking artist Abakas’ high-octane debut single “Runaway”.

I don’t make Eddie Vedder vocal comparisons lightly, yet, Abakas vocalist achieved the very same evocative sing as Pearl Jam’s frontman as he projected the powerful imagery from the lyrics into the anthemic hit.

Instrumentally, Abakas are well and truly in a league of their own thanks to the eclectic array of influences weaved into the supersonic rhythmic hit. Anthemic Rock converges with Hard Rock and Sleaze to orchestrate an alchemic feat of Alt-Rock which you’ll want to give repeat attention.

Any fans of Black Sabbath, Pearl Jam Queens of the Stone Age and Iron Maiden will be just as enamoured with Runaway as we were.

You can check out Abakas’ single for yourselves by heading over to Spotify, where you’ll also be able to delve into the artist’s debut EP “Marauders”.

If you want something that’s going to throw you right back to the old school Classic Rock days then this is the one for you. Happy Freuds have this contagious energy, manic instrumentation and insane vocals, that real rock feel that throws you right back.

‘’Break’’ is a track that you can’t help but love, it’s energetic, chaotic and has so much personality that shines through, as a listener you can hear how much energy goes into the music and how well it comes out.

They have this talent that definitely shouldn’t go unnoticed, the guitar riffs are so precise and electrifying, the light taps on the drums and not to mention the killer vocals that just completely top everything off, it all combines so well together.

Happy Freuds have clearly shown the Rock world what they have to offer in this track, just by showing how good old school Classic Rock can really sound. A band with huge potential to make it massive and one we can’t wait to see do so.

Ekaterine Music Presents DreamTaun; Contemporary Country Funk

One month after the initial release of DreamTaun, the fresh new single from Ekaterine Music and we’re still revelling in the absolute masterpiece of this sonorous sound. With its wholesome hints of Country, Americana, Electro-Pop, Funk and Ska DreamTaun has the momentum of a thousand wild horses.

The track progresses with Ska tones reverberating from the guitar with transient slips of melody from the verse to the chorus. The track has an angelic aura about it twined with the exuberance of one of the most confident women that you’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to expressing herself in a midst of raucous energy. The sound dominates its sweet euphoric vibe. The vocals are as clear as glass fracturing into a thousand pieces through the rhythm of this track. Ekaterine Music is the new musical venture from visionary Moscow born singer song writer Ekartine Goglidze whose music soon caught the attention of the BBC. Crisis King – Tonight – If You Thought That Extreme Music Could Not Be Eclectic, Think Again!

Crisis King is an artist with a fondness for hard-hitting metal, post-hardcore and industrial tones. His recent studio work, Tonight, is an EP that features 6 original songs. The artist’s music explores genres as diverse as hardcore, industrial, new-metal and more, going for an eclectic, yet direct sound. Opening number, “Die Easy”, is an extremely powerful wall of sound that feels like a stampede of vikings, crushing and burning everything in their path. The song has powerful drums and loud guitar riffs that are down-tuned and aggressive, perfectly matching the vocals.

The dark lyrical themes on the songs of the EP are also a great match with the album’s production aesthetics, but there is also room for melodies here and there.

“The Tides” highlights the group’s most melodic side, yet it still features hard-hitting drums, loud guitar walls and serendipitous changes. Throughout the span of these 6 tracks, Crisis King really stand out for the diverse approach they are able to bring to the table, exploring different sides of their musicianship and offering up an EP that feels eclectic, yet extremely direct, just as you would expect from a band such as Crisis King!

Shadow Horse twist that bridges the gaps between old school and contemporary metal

The Visitor by Shadow Horse

Shadow Horse is a heavy metal band hailing from Nashville, Tennessee. Their music immediately stands out for its broad range and for the band’s unique approach to songwriting, denoting a truly special personality and an original twist that bridges the gaps between old school and contemporary metal.

The band’s recent single, “Spear”, is a great example of the well-refined sonic mechanism at the core of the band’s tone. The song has some really great riffs, a dense, heavy beat and more importantly, a smooth vocal flow that sits perfectly on top of the instruments, easily cutting through the mix.

On “Spear”, Shadow Horse showcases a driven attitude, with lots of talent and a unique vision. Their tone could be described as a refreshing blend of doom and heavy metal, echoing the work of influential artists such as Black Sabbath, Judas Priest or Arch Enemy, only to mention a few of the bands that come to mind while listening to this music.
