Jessamine Barham – Denial: Baroquely Dark Alt Rock

Any fans of Nick Cave are going to want to check out the latest single “Denial” from up and coming Rock artist Jessamine Barham.

The pensive piano-led soundscape sets the perfect tone for the vocals to fall upon and conjure a dark-brand of aural alchemy. It’s dramatic, it’s unapologetically distinctive, and I can’t tell you how refreshing it is to hear and artist throw herself completely into a track with little inclination to assimilate what already exists on the airwaves.

Denial may be on the twee side of Rock, but that’s not to say that it’s not a striking soundscape to delve into. Jessamine Barham’s baroque vocals ensure that your attention is never in danger of faltering once you hit play.

Samantha Wolverton Has Released Her Second Striking Alt Pop Single “Moon”

With her latest single “Moon” Samantha Wolverton blended striking elements of baroque Art Pop with a more contemporary and accessible style of Pop ensuring that a connectable unique soundscape was shared with the airwaves.

Samantha Wolverton’s bold experimental approach fed into a nuanced and mellifluous production which shares very few reminiscences to any other artists around right now. But as she garners acclaim, undoubtedly there will be plenty of Kate Bush comparisons heading her way.

Moon may only be the up and coming artist’s second single. But there’s already a mature air which is all too perceptible around her masterfully arcane sound. If you make space for any Alt Pop artist on your radar this year, make it this one.

Marilyn Joy has released her latest quaintly striking single “Criminal Eyes”

Marilyn Joy has followed on from her 2018 album “Crystal D’Arke” with the uniquely striking Alt Pop single “Criminal Eyes”.

With the playful adventurous polyphonic tone in Criminal Eyes, there’s a palpable sense that Marilyn Joy’s overriding aim with the soundscape was to create a simple, accessible, yet authentically creative single. And she definitely succeeded by creating a track which sits between what you’d expect from David Bowie and the Post Punk pioneers Magazine. It’s all too easy to devoutly give your attention to the descriptive, poignantly penned and dramatically delivered lyrics.

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we certainly appreciate the distinctive authenticity.

Million Pebble Beach has made her Anti-Folk Debut with “The Elephant”

Up and coming singer-songwriter Million Pebble Beach has made her debut with the delicate yet playfully captivating single “The Elephant”.

With a baroque slightly carnivalesque edge, anyone who appreciates music which is slightly on the more archaic side is sure to be left enamoured by the escapism offered by the arcane soundscape. Yet, with the electronic instrumentals alongside the ethereal orchestral notes, there’s no doubt that the single belongs on contemporary airwaves.

With her debut album “The Adjacent Impossible” due for release on March 1st, 2020, Million Pebble Beach is more than worthy of a spot on your radar. Melodies which are as catchy yet artfully-inspired aren’t ambled across every day.

Luis Mojica – Queen Song: Gothic Indie Baroque Aural Alchemy

“Queen Song” is the latest tribally artful Chamber Pop single from New York artist Luis Mojica which finds the perfect balance of optimism and dark ominous allure.

Their avant-garde style introduces classical elements to a new era of gothic indie baroque aural alchemy to which you’re guaranteed to have never heard the like of before. While there’s plenty of disconcertment lingering in between the notes of Queen Song, the accessibility definitely wasn’t compromised.

Queen song is uniquely captivating and it is sure to appeal to anyone looking for artfully dark tonality, deep reverberant vocals, and imaginatively inventive lyrics. With their piano-led experimentalism, reminiscences can easily be found between Luis Mojica’s style and that of Amanda Palmer. Yet, with the darker elements, there are plenty of  increments to appease fans of Apocalyptica

Korfian – Handful of Dirt: Tribally Rhythmic Baroque Dark Pop

There was definitely no forgetting Korfian after the release of their mesmerising Dark Pop single “Territorial” last year. Naturally, we were all too excited that they’ve put their alchemically ominous talents to good use again with the release of their new album “Postfire”.

While each of the seven tracks on Postfire will leave you arrested by the artist’s distinctive additions to the airwaves, the best introduction to their sound is “Handful of Dirt”. With tribal drum rhythms and Korfian’s naturally magnetic vocals, the Electronic soundscape becomes more immersive with each evolution of sound in this truly progressive mix.

Any fans of the Editors are definitely going to want to put Korfian on their radar after the release of this stylistically hypnotic Baroque take on Dark Pop.
