Paul DoggerTee – She’s Famous on TikTok: Hazy Downtempo Hip Hop

The concept of fame is constantly in flux. Now, being famous on TikTok is a thing, and while I’m not entirely sure that’s a good thing or not, I can say with absolute certainty that Paul DoggerTee’s latest single “She’s Famous on TikTok” definitely is.

The ambiently playful track provides a downtempo dreamscape to slip into as you appreciate their modern stylistic production style and their sense of humour. The ambiguously hazy love song leaves plenty to your imagination as you listen to the beats weave through progressions and the vocals which slightly bleed into the mix for the ultimate cathartic vibe.

Gixn – Distant World: Indulgently Hazy Ambient Hip Hop

There’s no greater testament to an artist’s talent than their ability to provide cathartic escapism with their soundscapes. Which is exactly what you’ll sink into when you hit play on the transfixing debut album Mixed Emotions by up and coming Alternative artist Gixn.

Just as the album says on the tin, each track will offer a new facet of Gixn’s soul, but each of the tracks come steeped in light accordance. Ingesting lyrical resonance has never been easier.

The introduction track “Distant World” kicks off as a hazy lullaby dreamscape before Gixn’s sweet harmonic vocals start to interplay with the affably resolving instrumentals.

With the lyrics unravelling like an unfiltered stream of consciousness and the melodic beats offering a smorgasbord of ambience, you’d be hard-pressed to find a more benevolently magnetic track on the airwaves from any artist – iconic or new!

Legacy LDM – SOLO 独奏: The Trap Mix Your Vibe-Out Playlists Have Been Waiting For

Legacy LDM’s latest Trap track SOLO 独奏 moves beyond fluid, and into the realms of the transcendental.

The rhythmically concordant beats have been polished to perfection to give the track a juicy cathartic feel. SOLO 独奏 would be captivating as an instrumental track, so you can see Legacy LDM’s equally as buttery smooth RnB Trap bars as an extra added perk.

This is the radio-ready grinding track which your vibe-out playlists have been waiting for. They’ve perfected the art of creating an ambient urban jam which still has plenty of energy and momentum to offer.

BLVNK22 – REST IN PEACE: Melancholically Mused Ambient Trap

During the prelude to BLVNK22’s latest single “REST IN PEACE” you get a fair amount of warning that what you’re going to hear with the up and coming Hip Hop artists track will be a track steeped in melancholy. Yet, nothing can really prepare you for how sobering and soulful the single is. In the short space of two minutes you get a sense of the depth of BLVNKK’s introspection along with his ability to cook up simple yet rhythmically on point Trap beats. There’s a slight Lo Fi feel to the single which was produced by Zeeky Beats, but this just adds to the weight of REST IN PEACE which carries a transcendental vibe further adding to the ambience of the low-key beats.

Bronze Baby Shoes – No Way Feat. Slug Christ: Vibrantly Ambient Trap

This year we’ve seen no end of Trap artists emerging, but out of those artists there are only a handful taking to the 808’s and producing tracks which you can kick back and easily feel the flow to. The short and sweet production by Bronze Baby Shoes ‘No Way’ featuring Slug Christ which was released August 2018 and took a psychedelic route with the mix. It’s pretty rare that you’ll find this level of melody in a digitally composed track, yet, there are almost Shoegaze elements to the winding progressions with a lush level of sticky-sweet reverb from the synth. The effects were a little too heavy on the vocals which made the verses a little robotic, yet in a strange way it worked as the vocals seamlessly collided with the beat.

The unpredictable, downtempo, groove-soaked mix prove that the collaboration of producer Bronze Baby Shoes and Rap artist Slug Christ shouldn’t go their own way anytime soon.
