Spotlight Feature: Ducktail gave a lesson in inspirational exhilaration in his future bass debut, Over, ft Kristal Oliver

With a Wall Street career in the rear-view mirror, the electro luminary in the making, Ducktail, ensured the world knew about his arrival in the Future Bass scene by dropping his debut single, Over. If it’s good enough for Pete Tong, the multi-layered leads driving through pop-hooked groove-pocketed basslines are worthy enough for your rhythmic pulses.

The New York-based artist and producer teamed up with the Grammy-nominated platinum artist Kristal Oliver, who exhilarated the release with her award-winning vocal lines before the anthem for a lost and now found cause was mixed and mastered by none other than Gosteffects.

As change is the only thing that is certain in life, Ducktail prepared us all for it by lighting the green light to illuminate the way towards spiritual decision-making, which will lead you to the endless possibilities awaiting in the unknown.

Ducktail and Kristal Oliver converged to create an unreckonable force with this fiery feat of anthemic electro-soul. With choruses that burst with riotous, almost punk, energy and ever-ascending verses, which will leave you on a new spiritual plateau, just try telling me this isn’t the debut of the year.

“Over is all about following your passion and finding happiness along the way. Music has always been the biggest source of happiness for me. So, in a way, Ducktail was created to repay the debt I owed to music. I always strive to create something of inherent value and spread joy – even through the darkest times. Lyrically, Over is a testament to this notion; it quells decisional regret, something we’ve all experienced.”

Jody Lynn transcended Earth’s orbit to celebrate a cosmic connection in her latest dance-pop hit, Lost in Love

Lost in Love is the latest ethereally hyper dance pop track from the US artist Jody Lynn, who is in the habit of giving her ear candy, which is sweet enough to give you a euphoric sugar rush, a lyrical centre of gravity.

The trance elements are just one stitch in the tapestry of the massive genre-melding production, which transcends Earth’s orbit to pay an ode to an out-of-this-world cosmic connection. The indietronica elements give the massive anthem another element, allowing Lost in Love to become a sonic piece of ephemera from the fifth dimension.

Very few amorously fervent dance hits can claim to contain the same all-encompassing sense of soul exhibited in this future-ready floor-filler. Dance and EDM may be Jody Lynn’s wheelhouse, but in terms of inspiration, Prince’s tendency to push boundaries in his prolific career is the greatest influence behind her singles.

Ride the electromagnetic waves in Us or Aliens’ latest industrial pop-rock call into the void, Black Hole

Giving us all the dark industrial rock energy of Celldweller and Zeromancer, with a few sharp pop hooks for impaling measure, Us or Aliens’ latest cry into the void, Black Hole, is an existential tour de force.

While the hollow find it hard to find fulfilment in a disenfranchising reality where ennui is as escapable as the cosmic phenomenon which became the metaphorical focus of the single, the pensive will more than get their resonant fill from Black Hole.

Us or Aliens is the solo project from Shawn Kirkpatrick, who has been writing, composing, recording and producing for himself and other artists for the past two decades. In his impressive by any measure career, he has performed in over 500 venues and found the time to become an accomplished guitar teacher and TV composer.

CONT4MIN4TED – This is the Way: An Alt-Electronica Journey for the Mind, Body, Soul, and Rhythmic Pulses

After aurally relinquishing their emotional baggage via their debut LP, the Gainesville, GA alt-electronica producer, CONT4MIN4TED, went even further leftfield with their sophomore album, This is the Way, which will take you on a journey of the mind, body, soul and rhythmic pulses.

I could dissect each of the 16 singles that were intuitively curated to orchestrate the ultimate sonic experience, but perceptibly, the greatest achievement of this LP is the cinematic journey it will take you on straight from track one, Stuck, before the stagnation lifts in the fervidly exhilarating soundtrack, Drifting.

Even with the chillier tones and ethereal vocal lines in the cinematic slices of synthesised soul, you won’t fail to find the impassioned warmth in the emotion and experience-driven soundtracks to vignettes that are universally shared. The album is enough to make you forgo your usual vibe-out electronica playlists; it is a smorgasbord of constantly in-flux electronica ingenuity. For your sanity’s sake, sink your teeth into the catharsis.

House of Asha broke through silence and stigma with her debut dream-pop single, Talk About It

With her diaphanous debut single, Talk About It, the alternative singer-songwriter, House of Asha, broke the silence and stigma which often stifles the conversation around mental health in South Asian communities.

It is one thing to be candid when there will be no negative consequence or connotation, it is quite another to defy culture to break the cycle of generational trauma. The mellifluous dream-pop synthetics are a sublime pairing for the harmonically poised bleeding vocals, which effortlessly coalesce with the shoegazey dream-pop layers that will leave your rhythmic pulses on a plateau while the lyricality leaves you grounded.

Talk About It is the first single to release from House of Asha’s debut LP; it set the bar for what is to come, although, our faith is well-placed in the elevated grace of the songstress who scores her melancholically demure tracks around influences from the likes of Imogen Heap, Billie Eilish, Hozier and Young the Giant.

90s Nostalgia meets the future of house in the Freshcobar & Golden Girl Remix of ‘Missing’.

Freshcobar & Golden Girl gave the iconic 1994 hit, Missing by Everything But the Girl the house treatment in their entrancing new remix that is set to drop on all major platforms on April 28th. The indie guitars have been stripped-back to make room for the big beats, even bigger drops, and the colossal atmosphere that cloaks the remix drenches you in nostalgia while allowing you to simultaneously sample the future of house music.

The Missing Remix is the third single from the producer Freshcobar and the San Diego vocalist Golden Girl. Together, they reincarnated the 90s classic hit with far more intensity and fervour than the original contained, but the vocal mystique is right on brand. The deserts may have missed the rain, but my God, the dancefloors will have also missed this hit. Not all heroes wear capes, sometimes they’re reimagining and enlivening the soundtracks to our youth.

Supa G Swift has launched his dark, dirty, and droning techno debut, Take You to Attica

Take You to Attica is the debut dark, dirty and droning tech house hit from the up-and-coming artist Supa G Swift. Taking their listeners far beyond earth’s banal and predictable atmosphere, this helter-skelter ride through the cosmos treats you to funked-up surging electro-electricity by the smorgasbord.

The Cork, Ireland-based artist, DJ, and producer initially set out to take over the hip-hop scene in Cork before entering DJ battles in Ireland and relocating to Canada, where he became one of the most notorious and revered DJs in Vancouver.

For the past seven years, his upcoming debut album, Enter Infinity, has been his labour of love; it promises to be a psychologically expansive high-energy ride. On the basis of Take You to Attica, we don’t doubt his ability to deliver exhilaratingly trippy hits that could lead to a dancefloor frenzy.

Dehko – Slide ft. Snap Dogg: EDM Rap Has Never Hit Harder

The Detroit EDM duo, Dehko, is an unreckonable force after the drop of their anthemically arresting album, Tektroit. Dehko isn’t just hot on the heels of Tiesto, Skrillex, Garrix, Kygo, and Don Diablo, the brother duo has scorched right past them with his galvanisngly ground-razing epic of an LP.

The standout single, Slide, featuring the rap legend in his own right, Snap Dogg, is the sonic equivalent of an adrenalin shot to the heart. After a steady and almost sultry build, the bass-drenched beats catapult you through the hard and heavy progressions while Snap Dogg lends his dominantly gruff vocal energy to create a juggernaut of an EDM Rap hit.

From the absorbingly tensile breaks and builds to the crystal-clear cut of the production to the emotion the hit compels you to feel, Dehko & Snap Dogg reached the definitive pinnacle of EDM Rap. It would be idiotic to try and top it.

Get your body beat to the blistering hot deep house drop from Freshcobar & Lavelle Dupree, ‘Story of My Life’.

It may be too early to call the deep house drop of the year, but Freschobar & Lavell Dupree set the bar euphorically high with their body rocker of a bass-drenched earworm, Story of My Life.

Deep House hits that allow the lyrics to bite as hard as the beats are few and far between; clearly, the San Diego DJs and producers Freschobar and Lavelle Dupree sharpened their lyrical teeth before making a meal out of the radio-ready edit and the extended mix.

Prior to producing the cuttingly contemporary track, the two artists who have become staples in the San Diego scene have toured the world, tearing up stages between stamping their passports. We can’t wait to see where they take their dynamic collaboration next.

Daniel Aether poured soul into the fourth deadly sin with his afrobeat electro earworm, Envious

With his latest single, Envious, the Nigerian-Italian singer Daniel Aether raised the roof on Afrohouse while exploring the fourth deadly sin with flavourful soul.

There are few things in this world as disheartening as unveiling jealousy from someone that pretended to be a friend; we’ve all been there, and now we have the ultimate soundtrack for euphonic redemption. If success brings bitterness to your inner circle, you can bet your bottom dollar that they will be hoping for your downfall.

The 21-year-old Scotland-residing artist takes influence for his afrobeat electro earworms from a wide array of genres, resulting in a melodious sound that he can definitively call his own. While the Kaytranda-ESQUE beats bring the energy and colour, Aether’s opulently rich vocal lines spill the harmonised ad-libs that will undoubtedly become what he’s revered for in his promising career.
