There are some Hip Hop artists who step to the mic to assimilate a sound that has been created time and time again, then there are artists such as Yoshi Iamair whose music completely throws away the constraints of the genre.
His latest single “Awhoo” which was produced by Nefarious Cloud is a playful take on the archetypal beats you can expect to hear from Jazz-infused Hip Hop which still knows how to pay ode to the roots of the genre. Some of the progressions of the track may be glitchy and sporadic, yet, that only adds to the chaotic charm of Awhoo. Whilst the experimentally playful beat is undoubtedly impressive, the Rap bars which use clever use of meter and rhyme will be enough to make you want to keep Yoshi Iamair on your playlists.
