“J’adore” is the latest single from up and coming UK-based artist Liyah who is making waves with her smooth, soulful downtempo rhythms. It would seem that the 18-year-old R&B artist only needed to drop two soulfully rendered singles to amass a significant following as plenty of R&B fans have already placed her firmly on their radar.
With J’adore reverb-soaked synth lines are accompanied by intricately mesmeric drum loop patterns create the perfect platform for Liyah to lay down her vocals onto the mix, allowing her compelling vocals to rest just above the atmospherics. The lyrics are kept fairly minimalistic with J’adore, so there’s a slight reticent feel to the single, while this makes for a track that is all too easy to slip into, it was easy to feel that there was a slight lyrical depth. Having said that, J’adore is still a track with a massive amount of commercial potential, and it’s unlikely that this will be the last we hear from Liyah.
