Leon Lieffijn’s latest single “To Be Near You” is one of those tracks which defies every genre yet exceeds every expectation.
The lyrically compelling single unfolds under the light, yet weighted piano melodies during the first verse, yet, from the first hook you’re hit by an orchestrally resounding melody which is led by electric guitar and the concordantly deep hammering of the drums. To describe the single as ethereal almost feels like a drastic understatement, especially when it comes to the guitar outro. That’s without mentioning what the up and coming recording artist brings to the table vocally, the singer songwriter’s soulfully expressive style was made to sing heart-wrenching ballads such as To Be Near You.
You can check out Leon Lieffijn’s’s latest single To Be Near You along with his earlier singles for yourselves by heading over to Spotify. If you can check out his cover of Let It Be and not feel anything, it’s safe to say you’re a little bit dead inside. Dare I say I prefer Leon’s version to the Beatles?
