Up and coming Indie artist Thekayetan released their latest single “Addicted” on June 7th, 2019, and in the process of doing so, they shared with the airwaves an extremely progressive soundscape which won’t be forgotten long after the track has faded out.
While the prelude offers soft ambient downtempo pop, the momentum in the beat gradually picks up under Thekayetan’s softly versed vocals into a vibrant bass-heavy electronic mix which serves plenty of euphoria in the chorus. While Addicted may unravel as a medley of sound, the ingenuity of putting together such a seamless composition out of such contrasting sounds is a testament to Thekayetan’s talent as an artist. Addicted may not be everyone’s cup of tea, yet for those who appreciate well put together electronic experimentalism, the single comes highly recommended.
