ZERONIRVANA unleashed the alt-pop debut of the year with her arcanely affecting triumph, Lucid Drama

The orchestral alt-pop priestess, ZERONIRVANA has made her affectingly arcane debut with her single, Lucid Drama. The striking statement of artistic identity from the Bangalore-born, Boston-based artist defies the conventional boundaries of alt-pop.

Azure Kai strikes again with her illustriously authentic single, The Cakepop Song

Azure Kai cranked up the creativity in her latest imaginatively narrative release, The Cakepop Song; if anyone deserves to be revered as the Frank Zappa of this era, it is her with her quaintly endearing vignettes and visionary melodies.

80s-esque soul resounds in the atmosphere of the off-the-cuff alt-pop track that portrays the maladies of a middle school student being snubbed by his crush around the soaring Prince-reminiscent guitar solos and the crescendos that are just as consuming as the ones orchestrated by Queen.

Finding the perfect balance between theatrics and contemporary pop panache, Azure Kai effortlessly succeeded in spinning yet another superlatively synthesised tale that reaches the pinnacle of escapism music. We can’t wait to hear what follows as the Monmouth University student progresses through what is set to be an illustriously authentic career.

Skinny G Radio burst ‘Delusions of Grandeur’ in his theatric piano pop single

If you abstracted the annoying aspect to Tim Minchin, you would be left with something akin to Skinny G Radio’s standout single, Delusions of Grandeur, from his debut album, The Heightening.

The piano-led melodies around the organs and synths jauntily add a touch of theatrical flair to the baroquely tinged single, inspired by the likes of John Mayer and Billy Joel, while the vocals animatedly wrap around the vindicating lyricism.

“Don’t get caught up in their pretension” may just be one of my favourite lyrics of the year. It completely bursts the bubble of ego-driven self-importance that most artists drift around the industry in.

Whichever way he is infiltrating it, the Connecticut-born and raised, LA-based artist, songwriter, producer, and performer will perceptibly brighten the creative crevices of our late-stage capitalist world. We can’t wait to hear what follows.

Singer-songwriter [ai] has released their archaically infectious serenade, ‘Love in the Time of Tuberculosis’.

The idea of archaic disease probably won’t leave your heart beating faster in any positive way but the latest subversively amorous single from [ai], ‘Love in the Time of Tuberculosis’, definitely can.

If you can imagine what would happen if Nick Cave’s macabre mind melded with Tim Minchin’s ability to lyrically laugh in the face of mortality and the not so romantic aspects of existence, you’ll get an idea of what is on offer in this uniquely captivating soundscape.

The baroquely theatrical pop track comes with Brian May-style guitar solos, arresting piano-led progressions and [ai]’s ability to pull poetic parallels from across the ages. The single is a poignant reminder that the world has always been full of catastrophe, and it didn’t just start going to pot in 2020, we’ve had 100 years of adversity, no matter how much we feel personally slighted in the present.

Michael Antony – No Relax: Theatric Funk-Fuelled Euro Pop

London-based orchestrator of unforgettable dance pop hits, Michael Antony, has released their latest single ‘No Relax’, with a euro pop style cooler than Berghain and distinctively theatricals vocals, No Relax is almost enlivening to kickstart a zombie apocalypse. Failing that, the funk-filled feat of entrancing future pop which boasts a few retro tendencies will definitely get dance floors moving when they’re safe to grace once more.

It may not be your average perennial pop earworm, but the melodies in No Relax will bed down intently all the same.
