LA’s Sani Knight is ‘BADASF’ in his latest slice of seductively self-aware RnB Hip Hop

At 19 years old, the LA-residing artist Sani Knight has conquered the music industry with over a million streams on his collective discography, which kicked off in 2020. Marrying RnB and new wave hip-hop, his latest single, BADASF, allows wavy RnB melodies to seductively flow to the solid trappy beats.

If that wasn’t enough to get you in the mood, the pop-pinched effect-laden vocals that flow as mellifluously as the instrumental melodies in the short and sweet hit are hypnotic in their salacious vibe. Lyrical gold runs through the entire duration, but no line hits harder than “even if we don’t feel the same tomorrow, even if the love we made is hollow”.

Few artists are more self-aware of the inclination of wanting to ride slow as a means to a dopamine-fixing end. Undoubtedly, that is a vital key to the success the artist inspired by The Weeknd, 6LACK, and Che Ecru has unlocked.

BADASF was officially released on December 16th. Check it out on Spotify.

TaidiClub pours soul across a harsh electronic landscape in his latest single, Rome

The up-and-coming alternative artist, TaidiClub traversed love, life, and dreams in his scintillating LP, Lovin3D! The standout single, Rome, puts vulnerable, harmonised pop vocal lines across harsh and discordant beats as a striking exposition of what it means to be human in a jarring and inhospitable world that would chew you up and spit you out given half of the chance.

The industrial meets post-punk EBM beats is a markable sonic shift away from the mainstream, but TadiClub’s sweet vocal timbre that will be a hit with any fans of the Weeknd and the Midnight pulls the track right back to the realms of commercial potential. Only the soulfully defunct can let Rome fade to a close without being absorbed by the uninhibited ingenuity.

Rome will officially release on October 28th; check it out on Spotify.

Feel the heat of Keelan X’s latest synth-pop anthem, Fever

Like many artists, Ireland’s prodigal son of pop, Keelan Cunningham, turned to creative solitude during the pandemic, which saw him taking his strides as a solo artist after the dissolution of his band, The Marigolds. His third single, Fever, affirms that even as a one-man entity, he’s a powerhouse.

Armed with his Telecaster and Roland keyboard, he built a robust anthem out of Fever, which allows the strident vocal dynamism to match the mesmerizing energy of the heavy production, which will be an instant hit with The War on Drugs, The Weeknd, and The Midnight fans. To borrow a line from Labrinth, this one is feeling like a straight ten on the Richter scale. Fever is one of those rare hits that would work just as well filling a dance floor as it would on the radio. He became one to watch with his debut. Get him on your radar.

Fever is now available to stream on Spotify.

Leeza traverses affectionate fear in her stormy synth pop serenade, Stars

Like swathes of pop fans, we have been caught up in the hype amassing around LA-based singer-songwriter Leeza’s latest single, Stars. A month on from the July release, the smoothly interstellar single has racked up almost 45k streams on Spotify alone.

With the honesty in the lyricism acting as the centre of gravity in this future-pop-meets-old-school-pop-serenade, it’s impossible not to succumb to the romanticism as the track explores our tendency to long for comfort after someone has knocked our emotions out of orbit.

Her commanding vocals over the seductively moody synth lines proved to be a stylish recipe for pop magnetism. It is far from just titularly beyond earth’s atmosphere. Leeza is a conduit of connection who deserves to be lauded for her ability to translate our deepest fears and desires into melodic bliss.

In her own words, here is what Leeza had to say about her latest single

“Stars is a song about finding new love, and all the scary things that come with it that make you want to distance yourself from the person. Regardless of those fears, you realise that you are already in too deep anyway, and just need to give in, fall and see where it takes you, hopefully to the stars!”

With her debut EP, which will also be produced by fellow Berklee alumni, Jordan Sweet, due for release this October, she is more than worth a spot on your radar.

Listen to Stars on Spotify & follow Leeza on Instagram and TikTok.

Break free with Melo Bermon’s electropop hit, ‘REPLACEABLE’.

https://soundcloud.com/melo-bermon/replaceable/s-iKk7qN5FKg3

Texas-hailing artist Melo Bermon has released his latest electropop hit, REPLACEABLE, which puts to bed the gaslit myth that manipulators are irreplicable. Regardless of their grandiosity, they’re ten a penny. If you need any further convincing, hit play.

With a similar electrifying sonic palette to the Weeknd, Bermon’s synthy vindicating hit was made to break free too. REPLACEABLE throws back to the 80s while keeping in line with the contemporary indie synth-pop trend; with his sticky-sweet vocal sensibilities, Bermon has exactly what it takes to overtake the Midnight in the charts.

REPLACEABLE is due for release on July 23rd; you can check it out for yourselves via SoundCloud.

Jacobi.e – Wake Me Up in My Dreams: Intimately Glitchy Electronic Indie

Jacobi.e

‘Wake Me Up in My Dreams’ is the latest intimately glitchy feat of electronic indie released by up and coming artist and producer, Jacobi.e. The distorted jangle-pop guitars that ease you into his experimentally affable style could only be described as melodic quicksand.

There are some fairly obvious nods to the styles of the Weeknd and the Midnight, but with the LA-based artist’s lo-fi bedroom pop production style and their affinity for art-rock artists such as Radiohead, they’re able to deliver an engaging signature style which allows you drift through their subconscious.

Wake Me Up in My Dreams was inspired by the concept of idealism and our inability to accept the gritty nature of reality. Ironically, it’s viscerally ardent tracks like this that leave me with unrealistic romantic expectations.

Wake Me Up in My Dreams was released on February 21st. You can check it out for yourselves by heading over to SoundCloud.

TRBLMKR delivered an eccentric electro-pop serenade with ‘Sweet Love’

TRBLMKR’s latest alt-electronica single ‘Sweet Love’ is exactly the kind of dance track you could make regrettable decisions to if it dropped on a dance floor. By no means is it your archetypal drop of electronica. It’s sensual, unpredictable and seriously distinguished by the coalescence of indie vibes, RnB pop-inspired vocals and futuristic beats which carry faint reminiscence to Imagine Dragons’ smooth electro-pop edge.

The Floridian collective may have only recently made their debut, but that doesn’t hinder the commercial potential which spills from this eccentrically sweet release which shows just how stylish an electro-pop serenade can be.

Sweet Love released on January 24th, it is now available to stream via YouTube.

Coco Latt’e Presents Her Single Comfortable

Smooth R&B vibes with pleasant pop hooks and electronic influences.

Coco Latt’e has a sweet artist moniker who gives off a sense of warmth and coziness, just like a glass of delicious, creamy chocolate milk on a winter night. Her music is indeed sweet and embracing, offering the warmth of pop and the edgy emotional attitude of soul. Her recent single, “Comfortable”, is a driven, powerful and charismatic track that showcases an enticing groove and amazing production values, along with Coco’s trademark vocal performance. The sound of this track makes me think of artists as diverse as Rihanna, The Weeknd or D’Angelo, just to mention but a few. Her sound is direct and approachable, bridging the gaps between the widespread appeal of pop music and the direct groove of R&B, with an electronic twist.

Ultimately, this song stands out as a perfect example of an artist who is able to create engaging music, while retaining a lot of passion and integrity into her unique vision.

NIGHT RIDE Release New Single LAY YOU DOWN

Trailed by a captivating overall musical performance which was further adorned with a catchy electro-pop sound that leaves one twirling and swirling to its gracious vibe, Night Ride really proved that they are still belligerent, camera-ready and more focused to reach the zenith of their music career in their sojourn thus far. This duo is the next best thing to happen to the Electro-pop music industry.

No, this is not like the usual drudge we do take in with a hard pinch of salt, It only takes 3 seconds out 4 minutes total play time of this amazing song for you to be entrapped and unfurled into a forever porch light of beautiful reverie.

So out goes the pop-electro-rock hybrid; which in its place sits a broad EDM party mix that initially manifested itself as One Republic pastiche on a subtle tale of unrequited love and emotional trauma. It’s exactly when the beam of awesomely pitched melody and amazing sexy vocals entwines with the synth-pop vibe of this song that its power of transfixion sets in.

The accentuate music group; Night Ride, is an electronic pop duo embracing synth-pop and rock, and fusing it with theatre, fashion, technology and art which creates a comfort zone that feels genuine.

Night Ride band draws their inspiration on this song from the tale of their sexual experience and couple of situation-ships which isn’t really what you would likely notice at the first listen since the vibe would rather make you pay less attention to the lyrics of the song. This also further backed up the reason why their music influencers happen to be the likes The Weeknd, CHVRCHES, Grimes, GusGus, and Paramore.

As the first track to be released from their forthcoming E.P. ‘Neon Dreams’, Lay You Down gives a good insight of what to expect from the up and coming duo and I simply hope they’d surpass my imagination just like they did in this song when I eventually get my hands on their EP album when it’s released.

A north star in a psychedelic milky way is the overriding theme of Night Ride’s “Lay You Down”. Everything was more than I expected. Simply put, It was nothing short of class and quality.
