Farris comes in flaming hot with her ‘Rocket Blaster’

https://soundcloud.com/farrisband/rocket-blaster/s-F9DOpZfEL0Z

Farris comes in flaming hot with her ‘Rocket Blaster‘ and this is that old school style rock music that has been missing lately.

The Alt-Rock band from the Netherlands are fueled frenetically by excellent globe-trotting singer-songwriter Kathleen Farris and they are on top form here.

This is about putting those guns away and for peace to be the norm again. The world has gone to far from reality, with reality stars being in charge of some powerful countries.

The rock style here is quite marvelous, the constant brooding energy is evident, this is a song with so much meaning. The drums are on full show, the bass riffs are powerfully made and the electricity claws in like a hungry lion.

This is a call for peace by Farris on the new single ‘Rocket Blaster‘. The layers here are quite fantastic, there is so much to uncover on the new single and this is so memorable. With strong vocals and a band that works together, this is a track to turn it up loud.

New England band We Demand Parachutes rock through with punk steamed ‘Ketamine’

New England band We Demand Parachutes rock through with punk steamed new single called ‘Ketamine‘.

This New England’s emerging Indie-Rock band was started originally as a writing project, with one member deployed overseas with the United States Military, and the other two working in the live sound world. This group blends elements of alternative and “blink-182” era pop-punk with the emotional and incisive lyrics of front man Kevin McCord, drummer Ben Shumaker, and bassist/programmer Seth Richardson.

This is all about needing to have someone close to you to make sure that you are okay always. Life flips up and down so fast and the partying can get a bit much sometimes without that support.

We Demand Parachutes impress on the punk rockin’ single ‘Ketamine‘. This is a party-filled jam full of party stories and overdoses with a few hospital visits. The energy is swarming, the guitars full of focus and are ferociously driven to make this is a wild story. The vocals are punk-rock and the baselines will remind you of some of your favorite 90’s bands.

NYC band Lower Power are fully-charged on ‘All About Me’

Lower Power charge in with the politically aware new Rock banger called ‘All About Me‘.

New York City band Lower Power rages with fire and self-confessed wild and honest abandon. They speak on the important topics that usually get brushed under the carpet. Issues like gun violence, mental health, war, status of women, the rise to power of evil people that take over with their greedy style are all mentioned here. This is a video that cuts into the real problems that modern day society face, both in the USA and the world.

The story goes that the band came together when Pat met Jon and Ben playing at an 80’s Karaoke gig. Singing at the top of the lungs I’m sure as they are all passionate music fans, first and foremost. Pat asked them if they’d like to play in a punk rock band. they said yes. Pat met Konrad at a bar where he was playing a country gig and asked him if he wanted to play in a punk band. He said yes and the rest as they say, is history. They had two 2 hour rehearsals a month apart. The band went into Konrad’s and recorded the basic tracks in just 4 hours. This shows how energetic the band is and they wanted their music out there as soon as possible to spread their message, far and wide.

Lower Power rock out with the best intentions on their new single ‘All About Me‘. Their video and song strikes a topic that we all need to be aware about.

Movie Club show love and support for local music venues on ‘Driftwood’

Movie Club is a minimalist instrumental duo out of Venice Beach, California that was started in 2018. They believe in the power of a strong and simple union between two instruments to cut through the over-saturated, overproduced music of today. They fire in with their new single called ‘Driftwood‘.

Movie Club is Jessamyn Violet on drums and Vince Cuneo on guitar. These two clearly have a strong bond and the music is so awesome as the groovy beat keeps you jumping for joy. They sound tight together and this is that indie-rock music I could listen to all day.

Driftwood‘ is all about showing love and support for the local music venues in LA that have either had to close down or are gathering dust inside. Due to the shocking pandemic and bad leadership, these iconic venues might see an untimely death which is so sad to see. Generations will miss out on these venues and something music be done about it now before it is too late. Movie Club are a great band and I hope that their message is spread far and wide. Live, local and indie music is the heart and soul of the community and must be saved.

The Supplements vibe in on the reflective new single ‘On Your Own‘.

This is a supremely gifted South Florida based indie rock band who are hot in the scene with their indie-rock vibes. I love this video as it showcases all of the musicians and their clear skill level.

The Alternative rock band from Fort Lauderdale, Florida send us a radical music  video which is so funky and fresh. Shot in various locations over a day in Miami by Matheus Nogueira, you can tell that this was done right.

With a groovy-deliciously made start, this revs into gear really quickly. A story about meeting a girl at the bar who was all alone. Your eyes soon meet and things get interesting. You turn the other way as you aren’t too sure about this situation. Perhaps you know things won’t work or you are seeing if she is really into you?

Shift‘ is the new track from Californian artist Ryan Palma and this one rips in like a Pipe Masters barrel.

Ryan Palma is an emerging artist, singer, multi-instrumentalist, audio engineer, and songwriter originating from Fremont, California. The young talented rock artist is quickly making waves in the scene with his unparalleled sound and style. The energy is ferocious and heart-stopping at times.

Inspired by his life experiences, Ryan Palma seeks to create music that will connect and inspire people around the world. Ryan seeks to push the envelope with his sound and bridge various elements from different genres to make a well-rounded, dynamic style.

You know you need to make a move and shift what is going on in your life. You want to be happy and know what to do, its all about going with the vibe right now and doing what your heart tells you. You know it needs to happen and the sooner the better.

Ryan Palma fuses new school and old school rock elements to mesh together perfectly like chocolate on ice cream when its a hot summers day. The energy is high, the bass lines are so solid that the speakers feel like they are going to burst like a full balloon. I love the passion here, the guitar riffs smash in the door with unrelenting noise. The neighbors might hate this but who cares right? ‘Shift‘ is that slamin’ ol’ rock music that is missing from the world. Turn up loud and proud.

Facadessey rock in with the catchy ‘Silence’

Phoenix, Arizona is the home of the fantastic band called Facadessey as they return with ‘Silence‘.

Taken off the new album ‘Five Star Vacation‘, this track has an intriguing vibe to it and I find myself listening closer each time. This is a properly thought out track with meaning.

With a bouncy guitar style, the bass-lines certainly get you moving too. This is about not being silent anymore and going for what you want and desire in life. There are going to be haters about there and sometimes all is okay. You just have to go for it and do what you believe is right.

Silence‘ from Facadessey is a fab song with all the characteristics of a quality song. This would be perfect for a summer afternoon while with mates to get the BBQ going. The quality is there and this is a top act. This is a single you need to hear on full volume.

‘Roadblock’ from Brighton band Compliments is a debut dripped in gold

4-piece Brighton band Compliments rock in with their brand new single called ‘Roadblock‘.

Formed in 2020 and brought together by the band Gods as a way of freshening up the music scene. This is all about escapism and that feeling encapsulated 2020 in a nutshell. The feeling of being trapped all inside and looking outside by the window.

Roadblock‘ is a rocking indie-rock soundtrack that needs to be in a Netflix series. There is bite here, an edge to this young UK band. For a new team, they are in-sync like a glove that fits your hand, they are on the right side of time here. They might be the wrong side of the road and clock in this one lyric-wise but their emergence is met with real excitement.

Brighton band Compliments get better and better as the songs gears into the meaty part of the bone. There is lots to feed off here as they bands sound takes over. This is a terrific track that makes me listen again and again. Yes, this song is timeless and deserves lots of love. For a debut release, this is a great day to be alive. Turn this up and forget your worries.

London’s Catalina Skies returns with summer vibes on ‘Hey’

UK band Catalina Skies brings us a summer-packed song that brings your party to the beach with ‘Hey‘.

London-based Catalina Skies play an edgy style of indie pop that makes them impossible not to dance to. Their catchy choruses make them impossible to forget. I love everything about this summer track that strums the earlobes just right. The long solos make you reminisce and then the UK band lets it all loose with a brand of music that makes me feel happy.

It’s a sound that’s jam packed with stick-in-your-head guitar riffs, rolling drum solos and touches of synthesizer keys. Fusing this with strong, gritty vocals, enticing harmonies and unique lyrics, Catalina Skies mix their musical storytelling with fun beats and high-energy melodies. This is a band that like to keep things in such a cool rhythm that makes them standout.

Everything started when Craig met Chris at their work drinks and immediately launched into debating the greatest lyrics ever written, to which one of them outrageously claimed ‘Ice Cream’ by Australian band, Muscles. In spite of this drunken dispute, they uncovered a joint love for music’s incredible narrative power and decided to setup a jam. Joined by Sean along the way, the rest is history.

This is the perfect summer song with a bouncy happy vibe that is so welcome in 2020. I feel like going to the beach and watching bands with this awesome energy and message. London’s Catalina Skies’ ‘Hey’ is a wonderful addition to our tired souls.

The Beautiful Swedes rock in with awesome ‘Nothing Matters’

The Beautiful Swedes break in with their punchy new track called ‘Nothing Matters’.

The Beautiful Swedes is a retro-pop duo based in Sweden. Their music can be described as a new uplifting wind from the past with a contemporary flavor and a great belief in the future.

The duo got to know each other at the age of ten when they wrote their first song together and they have been playing music together since then. Over the years their adventures put them together with many bands and different artist-collaborations which led to extensive touring throughout Europe and the U.S. at famous venues all over the world.

The name comes from Swedish singer Albin Lee Meldau’s unofficial band name Band of Beautiful Swedes.

Nothing Matters’ is all about feeling down and that things are hopeless right now. Soon you will get over it however and find that positive light. The Beautiful Swedes impress on this effort and I love how the band flows, they are dynamite together and the catchy riffs makes me happy inside.
