Leon Seti

Leon Seti delivered the ‘Antidote’ with their latest compassionate pop single

With his authentic sound, Leon Seti has graced the iTunes Electronica Chart in Italy and caught the attention of BBC Introducing in the UK. Usually, he’s a one-man-melodic-machine, taking charge of writing, performing and production, but for his latest single, ‘Antidote’, he utilised the arpeggio guitars of guitarist, Francis. It’s safe to say that the collaborative chemistry melancholically blossomed.

Antidote is a stripped-back affair instrumentally, but with Leon Seti’s vocals atop of the minimalist acoustic folk-pop guitars, the single has enough gravity and gravitas to pull you in. Even though there is plenty of reminiscence in the single to Tracy Chapman’s Fast Car, the distinction lies within the realism. It oozes affection yet, Leon Seti kept the lyrics grounded within realism, making it infinitely more resonant than your average pop hit paying ode to an unattainable Hollywood-style romance.

Since making his debut in 2015, the Italy and London-based artist has moved from strength to strength and amassed plenty of type along the way. They may have diverged from their usual sound with Antidote, but this timely release was an all too welcome introduction to Seti’s softer side that will allow the listener to feel braver about baring their own.

Antidote is now available to stream via Spotify.

Leon Seti’s ephemeral new track ‘Japan’ is a deeply moving tribute wrapped up in a pitch-perfect pop song

Leon Seti is the project born out of the mind and voice of Leo Baldi, who writes and produces every song of the discography. Based in London and Arezzo, Italy, his nostalgic yet experimental electro-pop has been played by the BBC Introducing, was featured in Billboard Italia and his latest album COBALT reached #1 on the Itunes Electronic chart in Italy. Leon Seti played in venues such as The O2 Academy Islington and The Spice of Life in London, as well as historic clubs like Spin Time Labs in Rome and Il Cassero in Bologna

In a tribute to his mother who suffered a number of health-related issues during quarantine in Italy, Leon Seti has released the song “Japan” which is a soft and supple track that is rhythmically visionary.

Telling a story throughout, Leon Seti sings the lyrics beautifully occasionally hitting his falsetto to empower the track. Easily relatable to many during these tough times, Leon Seti tells us his story with his lyrics that he wrote and the winding progressive beats that brings this escapism feeling throughout.

The song has been produced by Leon Seti and Pancratio, and a video for the song has been released to accompany the track which has been directed and edited by Thomas Rebour with Shaun Waldie acting as director of photography. It sees various images and scenes of Leon Seti, edited in line with the track itself.

“Japan” is an awesome track we could listen to on repeat, giving us pure escapism as Leon Seti impresses with his stunning vocals and lyrics. It is one track we all need to add to our everyday playlists..

Leon Seti’s effeminate, ethereal electro-pop hits its apex with ‘Silver Lining’

Italian electronic artist Leon Seti has released his new track ‘Silver Lining’ from his chart topping new album Cobalt

Pulsing, fabricated synthetic waves of wavering vocals and silky sonic textures are quick to overwhelm on Seti’s new single. ‘Silver Lining’ is unrelentingly full-on in driving forward with mournful, high-pitched quivers alongside stuttering high-hats and blubbering electro grooves. It’s eclectic electro pop that has an appreciation for the sensibility needed to match art with pure, unadulterated enjoyability.

Leon Seti is an exciting artist with a strutting, confident vocal prowl – evident in his grandiose falsetto on ‘Silver Lining’. Check it out if you like Pet Shop Boys-influenced work that takes on a completely modern, reinvigorating artistic presence and aesthetic.
