MOON’s latest single, “We’re So Close,” alters between twinkling synths and epic backbeats all linked by frontwoman Chelsea Davis’s captivating voice. The result is an arresting anthem of edgy alt-pop.
“Our goal with ‘We’re So Close’ was to convey a message of ‘hope for peace,’” says Davis. “We want to express a broad and positive essence to be applied to all people and situations. If we’re going to get along at all, it’s all about getting closer.”
MOON is a Los Angeles-based alt-rock act founded by Chelsea Davis (vocals/drums) and Dan Silver (guitar/synth). Together, they weave elements of shoegaze, synth-pop, and desert rock via dreamy guitars, picturesque synth work, and a solid rock backbone. Their previous single, “I Got A Fever,” charted on iTunes’ Hot Tracks as well as KROQ’s Locals Only with Kat Corbett and appeared on USA Network’s hit TV show Colony.
“We’re So Close” was recorded at Victory Road Studios and mixed by Mark Needham (Third Eye Blind, Walk The Moon, The Airborne Toxic Event) at Ballroom Studio.

There is not much we know about Red Rosamond apart from the track is large and is out via the amazing guys at WAX. With big powerful Amy Winehouse/Adele esque vocals she is one to watch out for in 2016/2017.
Red Explains: I am driven by love. I am inspired by the emotionally authentic – the passionate, the bold, the determined – and the flawed. I grew up listening to stars like Aretha Franklin, Dinah Washington, Al Green & Tina Turner. Inspired by their work, every song I write I aim to be true.
‘Damn’ is about the power play between two people. The magnetism, the seduction… It’s about desire and heartbreak, about someone who has a hold on you.
The song is the first single leaked off the band’s forthcoming debut album, The Hive Mind, which drops September 2nd. The track is a solid groove of melodic indie rock with smooth vocals and jangly guitars that harken back to Rilo Kiley’s prime years.
“Oddly, I first wrote “Ultralight” while taking care of a friend who was having a bad acid trip,” says frontwoman Laura Peters. “Apparently the guitar lines were so soothing that every time I stopped playing he looked horrified and pukey. I ended up writing about nine verses. Obviously, they didn’t all make it into the final cut.”
Psychic Loveis an Echo Park-based act spearheaded by multi-media artist Laura Peters along with Max Harrison (guitar) and Liam McCormack (bass). Peters likes to describe their sound as “dream grunge” or “as if Nancy Sinatra had a love child with Frank Black.” “Ultralight” was recorded by Aaron Espinoza (of Earlimart) at The Ship Studio in Eagle Rock, CA and mastered by Mark Chaleki at Little Red Book Mastering.
NAYAN means ‘Eyes’ in Hindi. NAYAN writes amelodic R&B, Rock/Pop stuff that everyone can relate with. His music has raw, innocent, fun, intimate and flirtatious lyrics infused with fresh, dramatic, happy and nostalgic melodies which are very easy to sing along to.
NAYAN says “I was born in India, where music as a profession was considered very unlikely. Not when you’re a teen living in a third world Country. But my heart was guided by my childhood heroes Freddie Mercury, Michael Jackson and the Beatles. Growing up I traversed the globe with my family from Spain to the UK, finally arriving in the city of Angels… And I found a home in the city of my dreams among the stars that had been once so distant.”
Jessie Poland makes music. You know, that kind of alt-pop music mostly inspired by the women who still don’t care about what you think of them. You might have heard of her back in 2008 when she performed under her pseudonym, Charlotte Sometimes, and when she released her debut album on Geffen Records.
Charlotte Sometimes was a VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist, one of Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need to Know,” and she even competed on the hit NBC TV show, The Voice. But if you’re still on the look out for the Charlotte Sometimes’ newest accolade, stop. You can now find Jessie performing under the whiskey drinking, dark-pop-music making singer-songstress brand LACES.
LACES’ music has been featured by Armada Records, Hollywood Records, MTV, The CW, FUSE, ABC, NBC, Rolling Stone, Billboard, Marie Claire, and Elle. Lyrically and vocally, her style is rare, brooding, and definitely something your misogynistic boyfriend won’t like.
