Through the Noise by Kaleita Scored the Fractured Frequencies of Modern Life into Sonic Clarity

Kaleita

The inaugural strike from Kaleita, the solo alias of the UK-based, Italian-born guitarist and composer Filippo Faustini, refuses to skim the surface of sonic expression. Through the Noise creates its own altitude above generic genre lines, dissecting the post-rock landscape with a methodical precision and a deft hand in ambient experimentation. Faustini’s disquieting guitar tone smoulders through a brooding cinematic prelude before spiralling into a controlled implosion of texture, timbre, and tonal grief.

The composition stays emotionally articulate as it decays and reforms with haunting clarity. The cello work from Maya Mc Court adds weight to the gravity Kaleita generates by tuning the strings of existential dread into something that doesn’t buckle under its own contemplation. Each instrumentalist works in service of the storm; nothing feels self-serving, every element is meticulously placed to hold space for the commentary within.

Underneath the cultivated composition lies a thematic excavation of contemporary disorientation. Climate anxiety and digital dissonance ripple through the accompanying visual narrative, but Through the Noise never drowns itself in abstraction. Instead, it filters the chaos through a lens of raw human sensitivity. In doing so, Faustini doesn’t just score for the now, he sets a new standard for what experimentalism can evoke when anchored by intent and executed without ego.

The track’s crescendo reaches beyond sound design into cinematic emotionality, inviting those who still listen closely to embrace the signal within the interference.

Through the Noise is now available to stream on all major platforms, including Bandcamp.

Bear witness to the Avant-Garde finesse in Sairen’s Branca-esque post-rock instrumental score, Délivrance

The post-rock artist and composer, Sairen, created the embodiment of cinematic tension in his seminal instrumental score, Délivrance. This seven-minute piece flourishes distinctive avant-garde flair, marking it as a standout creation in the realm of modern instrumental music.

The track’s progression is a journey through the artist’s intricate vision, characterised by eloquently moody tones and a sophisticated use of musical elements. Sairen’s expertise in blending diverse musical influences is evident here. From the harbingering guitars that siren through the track to the tenaciously placed cymbal crashes, each element is carefully crafted to contribute to the overall narrative of the piece.

One of the most striking features of “Délivrance” is the introduction of chamber strings, which seamlessly complement the sonic spectacle of the crescendos. This inclusion not only enhances the track’s emotional depth but also showcases Sairen’s ability to fuse classical sensibilities with modern post-rock aesthetics.

The middle-eight of the track is particularly noteworthy. Centred around the motif of a ticking clock, it builds a palpable sense of drama, leading to a break into an arcanely all-consuming sequence that can only be described as filmic ingenuity. This segment demonstrates a touch of Glenn Branca in its composition, highlighting Sairen’s skill in creating complex, layered soundscapes.

Sairen’s background, with his early introduction to music and his affinity for baroque, romantic, dark metal, and post-rock, shines through in this creation. He bridges these seemingly opposite genres, crafting a unique sound that is both haunting and enchanting.

Délivrance was officially released on November 7th; stream it on SoundCloud.

Mute Sounds – Broken Pieces: An All-Consuming Alt-Rock Reflection of Chaotic Duality

Mute Sounds’ 2020 EP ‘Roads’ totally defies the notion of genre. It is far easier to define the progressively cinematic release in terms of sheer originality. But if you could imagine what it would sound like if Hans Zimmer teamed up with Motorhead, you’ll get an idea of what is in store.

The standout track ‘Broken Pieces’ is the perfect introduction to the artist’s experimental expression. Over-driven guitars gnaw away at the accordance in the panoramically evocative release between increments of evocative neo-classic keys, making Broken Pieces an all-consuming reflection of chaotic duality.

Mute Sounds is the project of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, Rui Pedro, who permanently lost their voice after their second battle with severe throat cancer at the age of 28. They say that when one sense is lost, another strengthens, on the basis of Broken Pieces, that can also be said about methods of communication.
