Oxford singer-songwriter Emma Hunter brought Latino Post-Punk to UK shores in her artfully augmented single, Guilty

If Iggy Pop is the Passenger, the Oxford singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist Emma Hunter is the driver in her biggest single and battle of conscience to date, Guilty, which hit the airwaves on September 29.

With her artful sonic signature scribed through her Flamenco guitars augmented with a brashy and garagey high-octane post-punk energy that will ensnare fans of Siouxsie Soux and Debbie Harry, this guilt-riddled and demon-parading evolution is a far cry from her former releases which reach the epitome of affectingly arresting.

Hunter’s new-found strident approach to enticing listeners into her conceptually cunning creativity will undoubtedly put her on the right trajectory towards the reverence she’s deserved from the outset. As much as the industry maintains that it favours authenticity and talent, her absence from the charts is a damning testament to their appetite for melodic monotony.

UK singer Kane sings about being cheated on with debut single ‘Guilty’

UK singer Kane sings about being cheated on by the girl of his dreams on the debut track ‘Guilty‘.

Kane is a singer-songwriter from Leicester in England. He was enjoying himself in Australia and on the holiday of his dreams. Then of course, corona struck, and he had to go home. No worries however. This has lead to him making his debut song and this is a well-sung track that strikes deep inside the heart like a flaming shooter, the story is so real and the taste is bitter.

You are with someone that you care about so much. The love is real and you are happy. Then suddenly, something is different. You have a feeling that something is a bit off and you think that she might be seeing someone else. You ask about who she is chatting to on her phone and you get a vague answer. You know now that you were right. It’s not just some guy and she looks guilty. Things are now bleak and the love is over.

Guilty‘ from the new singer Kane is a fine debut effort. The lyrics are so well constructed and the energy matches what is going on. He got cheated on which is a horrible feeling. Luckily, he is a resistant young man who will learn from this and be stronger. This is a quality effort and we might be witnessing a new name to watch in the UK music scene.

A&R Factory Present: V Empress

NYC based singer, V Empress, kicks of the summer with her immensely sexy and catchy new track, Guilty. Inspired by Kid Ink and Dj Mustard’s production of Summer in the Winter, V Empress set out to achieve her own [female] fusion of hot club oriented hip hop beats paired with very catchy, sexy and complex lyrics in her four track EP; Can’t Tame a Savage. Reminiscent of Katy Perry’s I Kissed a Girl, V Empress’ track Guilty describes her desire to partake in a three-some, and ultimately encourages listeners to take pride in their sexuality and urges.

V Empress states “I want to be as raw, honest, and transparent as possible when writing my lyrics and creating my art,” and aims to “promote female empowerment and expression in a very male dominated industry.” The music video is set to be released late July.
