JAY DVRDEN’s latest release No Justice is a chilling Shoegaze-infused Trap attack on racial injustice

Alt Hip Hop artist JAY DVRDEN’s tracks always have an overwhelmingly profound effect. Naturally, their latest release “No Justice” featuring Rap artist Lil Rose TFB which chillingly alludes to the injustice revolving around the unforgivable number of black lives lost hit insanely hard.

JAY DVRDEN kept with their usual sludgy Grunge Trap style with No Justice. The angular cutting notes weave through the rattle of the 808s and vocals bleed into the mix just enough to find perfect synergy with the morose melodies.

The Trap artist’s ability to make nuances of Shoegaze carry the same mesmerising hypnotic draw as they do in Slowdive’s tracks makes JAY DVRDEN one of the most pioneering artist’s I’ve heard this year.

Aural fascination aside, No Justice is exactly the kind of track which we need more of right now. It grounds you in empathy and compassion for the victims of police brutality and charges you with the motivation to take a stand.

King of Melancholic Trap JAY DVRDEN Has Spilt Grungy Alchemy Once More with their Latest Release

JAY DVRDEN left quite the lasting impression on us with their seminal single Sad Witch. Naturally, we were all too eager to emotively bruise ourselves once again with their latest release.

This time, JAY DVRDEN reworked Gracie Abrams’ hit single I Miss You, I’m Sorry. By contorting the soundscape into a beguilingly ethereal experience which will stay with you long after the short and bitter-sweet track has faded to a close and layering their own deeply connectable introspective lyrics on top of the track, he well and truly made the remix his own.

I’m not usually one for repetition within music, but the way he worked “where is my mind”  until it matched the iconic tone set by the Pixies was utterly ingenious.

You can check out the official video to JAY DVRDEN’s remix which premiered on May 15th via YouTube.

JAY DVRDEN – Sad Witch: Pensively Magnetic Grunge-Laden Trap

Trap doesn’t come much darker than up and coming Alternative artist JAY DVRDEN’s seminal single “Sad Witch”. If you could imagine what it would sound like if Trent Reznor started to dabble with Trap, you’ll get a good idea of what to expect when you hit play on the deeply melancholic track.

The pensively magnetic vocals find their perfect place in the inventively orchestrated soundscape which pairs reverb-drenched synths with striking orchestral layers. With their Grunge-laden unique approach to Sad Witch, JAY DVRDEN found the perfect balance between emotivity and ingenuity.

But Sad Witch is so much more than a playlist-worthy mix. It provides a snapshot of the ennui which is defining a new generation of artists of all inclinations. It may not be as acclaimed as Linkin Park and Jay-Z’s infamous collaboration, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t deserve to be.

Grunge Trap Trailblazer Zlumpyy Has Dropped His Fiercest Track Yet with “Rude!”

https://soundcloud.com/zlumpyyyyyyy/rude

Up and coming Trap artist Zlumpyy has created plenty of mould-breaking Trap hits in 2020, but the best introduction to their fiercely authentic style is undoubtedly their recently released aural storm Rude! produced by Mathiastyner.

By incorporating the same untameable angst as 90s Grunge pioneers into their adrenalized Trap mix, Rude! is as volatile as Trap gets. The track may be short, but it packs a convictive punch and you can practically taste the creative catharsis which it contains.

Zlumpyy’s invention of the Scream Trap genre may not be for the faint-hearted, but truly expressive rarely ever is.

You can check out Zlumpyy’s track Rude! along with the rest of their releases via SoundCloud.
