Bayan – Abnormality: Psychedelically Entrancing Avant-Garde Electronica

Breaking Electronica artist Bayan has recently released their debut album “True Conspiracy” containing the psychedelically entrancing single Abnormality which was used as the soundtrack for the Indie film Pop Life.

By infusing elements of Funk, Avant-Garde, and Psych Rock into the electronically mastered instrumental soundscape, Bayan offered a Lynchian level of ingenuity in Abnormality which any fans of Glenn Branca will definitely appreciate.

Your only complaint with Abnormality is that it doesn’t last longer. It dystopically delivers everything that it says on the tin. Debuts don’t often come as hypnotically absorbing as this. We’d strongly suggest making room for Bayan on your radars.

Altared Sounds – Grow the Bones: Eerily Transcendent Downtempo Experimental Electronica.

US-based artist and producer Altared Sounds made an unforgettable debut with their downtempo psychedelia-laced experimental electronica album “Red Wing”.

In a time when our physical freedom is limited, tracks such as “Grow the Bones” are more essential than ever. The consciousness-consuming absolving nature of the single offers all the adventurous mental stimulation you could possibly ask for.

With slightly eerie tones creeping into the mix, Grow the Bones takes you on a very different aural trip to most electronica. The sheer ingenuity thrown into the mix compels you to immerse yourself deeper with each progression. Under Altared Sounds’ deft orchestration, the energy, tone and momentum of the entrancing mix to transpose seamlessly throughout the epic 7-minute duration.

If David Lynch was asked to create a Resident Evil soundtrack, I have the feeling that it would sound fairly similar to the unpredictably mesmeric soundscape which is Grow the Bones.

The instrumental soundscape feels like a calm before an ethereal aural storm. The same chilling sensation you get while watching vintage horror flicks as you wait for the insidiousness to seep manifests through the cold glistening tones and swirling voids of kaleidoscopically monochrome magnetism.

Sunbeam42 – Mystery Universe: Ambiently Immersive Experimental Electronica

Mystery Universe is just one of the ambiently immersive feats of experimental electronica found on up and coming artist Sunbeam42’s latest EP Journey which was released on April 27th.

Through the US producer’s use of deftly soft tones, intricately unpredictable progressions, and spatial effects, they orchestrated a beguiling mix which is all too easy to slip into. Furthermore, there’s little chance that your consciousness will want to falter from the forbearing rhythms.

Mystery Universe may stray from the mainstream sound, but accessibility is the essence of the stunningly produced tension-stripping soundscape.

There’s a sense of depth and personality in Mystery Universe which is rarely found within instrumental Ambient Electronica. Sunbeam42 is definitely one to watch if you like to keep your downtempo electronica playlists topped up with breaking talent.

After having the pleasure of exploring 8udDha bl0od’s recently released material, listening to their debut single “1n7r0dUc1ng… 23:5+3=x+y Dr3Am5 8r3Ak1ng fUr7h3r ApAr7 c0m1ng cl053r 70g37h3r” showed us where the dynamically absorbing aural journey began.

After reading the endearing admission that not all of 8udDha bl0od hadn’t quite mastered their instruments prior to the release, quite honestly, I loved it even more than I would if the soundscape was born from virtuosic assuredness.

In their humble beginnings, their psychotropic sound started to tentatively flourish into complex multi-layered reaches of ingenuity which become even bolder and more extreme in their follow-up releases.

I for one am extremely grateful for their continued experimentalism. Their sound may not be everyone’s cup of tea. But the Brighton-based artist offers creative taste breakers which anyone with a thirst for music outside of the archetypal realms will appreciate.

8udDha bl0od – Yin: Abstract Alt Electronica

Up and coming Brighton-based artist 8udDha bl0od may have some accordant hits in their discography of Alternative Releases. Yet, for their release “Y!n”, they’ve created a harshly ethereal, abstract soundscape which comes with a magnetic pull.

With the same mind-calming effects of binaural beats when you crank this instrumental mix up high, Y!n does more than provide ambience or catharsis.

The stunningly arcane mesmerism allows you to feel as though you’ve unlocked a higher vibration. And that’s quite the feat considering that Y!n is just over one and a half minutes long.

Each new track you delve into from 8udDha bl0od leaves you more in awe of their tendency to create without constraint.

“57rAng3r 7hing5 D0Wn5!D3 Up in the Up5!D3 D0Wn W0rlD” is just one of the most recent releases from Brighton-based Alt Rock 5-piece 8udDha bl0od. You won’t hear another more intensely immersive track on the radio today.

The production has an ambient, light, and dreamy melodic feel, yet, 57rAng3r 7hing5 D0Wn5!D3 Up in the Up5!D3 D0Wn W0rlD isn’t a track which you mindlessly slip into. The striking tones of the ethereal electronic effects and overdriven guitars will make sure every seamlessly unpredictable guitar progression has your full attention.

We often speak of tracks being magnetic, but this time, you almost feel as though you’re being pulled into a Lynchian dystopic aural black hole. Their ability to blend melancholy with transcendental energy is unparalleled.

Naturally, we can’t wait to hear the psychotropic wonders 8udDha bl0od have in the pipeline ready to drop in 2020.

Tyrone Sanborn Webster – Gallows: Transfixingly Blissful Art Rock

“Gallows” is just one of the transfixing blissful Art Rock singles which features on up and coming artist Tyrone Sanborn Webster’s latest album INTENTION.

The roots of Indie Folk have perceptibly blossomed into a captivating new sound which is defined by the transience the soundscapes such as Gallows can offer when orchestrated through acoustic instrumentals and electronic effect.

If you could imagine what Radiohead would sound like if they got more in touch with their folk side and experimented more with tribal rhythms, you’ll be able to get an idea of just how arrestive the melodies are in Gallows. Combine that with the fact the vocals are as stunning as Elliot Smith’s and you’ll soon see that it’s time to get excited about this Austin, US-based artist’s celestial sound.

Awl – Hold Back: Glacially Entrancing Electronica

Until up and coming Electronica artist Awl dropped their latest mix “Hold Back” Breakbeat Electronica had never felt quite so glacial.

But instead of allowing the cold tones in Hold Back to create a bleak and drab soundscape, Awl was inventive with the ethereal layers of reverb he ran through the mix giving the instrumentals a uniquely nuanced transcendent entrancing vibe.

The London-based artist perceptibly hasn’t failed in stamping down their signature sound through Hold Back which is just one of the tracks which you will find on their 2020 4-track EP “Endless”. We really wish it was endless – there are very few soundscapes which are as easy to siphon the ambient catharsis from as the tracks you will find on Endless.

Blacktate has made their debut with the transfixing Alt Indie Pop EP “While the World’s on Fire”

Up and coming Alt Indie Pop artist Blackstate has made their debut with the eclectically-inspired endearingly unforgettable debut EP “While the World’s on Fire”.

With the first track “Wolves” allowing you to dive in headfirst into the cathartic instrumental experimentalism and grounding lyrics. You instantly get a taste of Blackstate’s refreshingly distinctive songwriting approach. There’s a palpable visceral feel to each element of the soundscape, from the lyrics to the vocals to the melodies which carry the perfect pinch of melancholy while exuding fragile optimism.

The second track “Lost My Crown” will allow you to imagine what it would sound like if Elliott Smith experimented with synths. If I wasn’t emotional after the first single, I definitely was when I fell into the pensive grips of Lost My Crown.

With track three “The Arsonist” Blacktate has switched up their sound once more, offering a bass-heavy EDM-driven mix which incorporates elements of Darkwave EBM which wouldn’t sound out of place in a sticky goth club.

Track four “Tulips” offers yet another instrumentally-driven mix, this time, there’s elements of glitchy analogue beats which almost flirt with Drum and Bass yet the track never breaks from its mellifluous concordance.

The concluding single “Dancing Wolves” revives 80s Synth Pop under a brand new effervescent guise, if you hadn’t already warmed to the vocals and their charmingly devilish experimentalism, this is where it hits hard.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll deal with the fact that the world is a little bit depressing right now by immersing yourself in resonant music which makes you feel not quite as alone in your existentialism. For this purpose, I can’t recommend Blackstate enough. In their own words, here’s what they had to say about the EP:

“Blackstate is about Friday. Two o’clock. About almost surviving another day. Another week. About the weekend and about getting f*cked. About how social media is great. About eating a burger. About the “good life”. About cat videos. About being sane. About the fact that anxiety is perfectly normal. About the fact that insecurity is (not) a fear of the future self. About more cat videos. About not needing the truth. About being a wolf. About an angry emoji. Love emoji. About how this country sucks, but you’re really okay. You’re happy. You’re sane. One day less alive.”
