Hip Hop artist Taran has dropped their most resonant track yet with “Income”

‘Resonant’ and ‘sweet’ may not be terms which you’d commonly associate with Trap music. But up and coming artist Taran aurally ticked both of those boxes with their latest single “Income”.

If you’re as sick of hearing about how minted some Hip Hop artists are and you want to hear lyrics which reflect reality, look no further. Let’s not pretend that the overwhelming majority of us have never been broke. It’s a truth which Taran forces the listener to consider as they listen to the experimental EDM Hip Hop beats carve out trippy fluid melodies. With slight hints of Dubstep in the wavy Trap mix which also serves plenty of groove, it’s clear to see that Taran didn’t set out to assimilate with Income.

Sound Lobotomy – The Elephant & The Rider ft. Meraki

Electronica artists frequently drop mind-altering mixes. But Sound Lobotomy has gone one step further and ensured that your perceptions shift thanks to the bass-driven beats in their latest mix and the inspiration behind their monstrous track.

For their latest single “The Elephant & The Rider” they teamed up Meraki to hold up a much-needed mirror to our contemporary societal struggles. The mix addresses our enlightened consciousness and urges the listener to adopt the fundamental ancient Greek concept of Noesis – the exercise of reason. Through our increased awareness of the world, it’s easy to want to slip into an existential black hole. The Elephant & The Rider is an aural olive branch with the ability to pull you out of the void and back to what it truly means to be human.

PRTYFOUL. – Know The Name: Hard-Hitting Trap Rap Dubstep

It was only natural for the most acclaimed music genre of the first half of the decade -call me EDM- and the most acclaimed one of the second half -call me trap rap- to eventually meet and combine their dynamics. This is what acts like PRTYFOUL. do.

PRTYFOUL. is comprised of music producers HAIKI and NoBveno. With their new sonic blast called “Know The Name” this is what they achieve: This is an explosive marriage of trap rap and dubstep. The song also features rapper Jacky X, whose fast and intricate flows bring a lot to the table during the verses. There is no chorus but a volcanic, eruptive dubstep drop that is delicious. There is a vivid tendency to headbang to this one.

I find this “marriage” of genres if you will, a fairly interesting case. And let us not sleep on the potential for some serious mainstream success that lies here.

Tastee – Daddys Home: Cinematically Caustic Dubstep

With a prelude which may as well be in the Mad Max Fury Road soundtrack, up and coming Dubstep artist Tastee’s latest mix “Daddys Home” definitely isn’t for the faint hearted. But those who like to feel the reverberance of Dubstep between their ribs should definitely indulge in the chaos which is contained in Daddys Home.

Even despite the unpredictable frenzied nature of the track, Daddys Home still remains a darkly danceable drop which stands as a testament to Tastee’s talent as a producer. There’s no denying that Daddys Home is a cinematic feat of pioneering ingenuity – even if it should probably come with a health warning.

STATIS – ABDUCTION: Intergalactically Intense Hip Hop

Breaking Dubstep artist STATIS has recently released their atmospherically sonic mix “ABDUCTION”. As you can probably guess by the name, there’s plenty of Sci-Fi futurism weaved into the track through inventive sampling. But what you probably won’t be prepared for is the sheer veracity of the relentlessly reverberant bass; prepare your eardrums for a pounding.

ABDUCTION may not be for the faint-hearted, but for anyone who likes their Dubstep filthy and fast, you’re sure to appreciate the caustically mind-blowing mix. And plenty of people have already jumped on the perceptible hype of the US-based artist. It’s evident that STATIS knows just how to structure a captivatingly chaotic track capable of hooking you in right from the very first soul-rattling offering of bass right up to the outro.

Not Uncomplicated – Hypercube: Meet the Artist Making Dubstep More Progressive Than Ever

Up and coming artist Not Uncomplicated has welcomed us into a new era of dubstep with their latest track “Hypercube”. Instead of your usual filthy reverberant bassy beats right the way through, Not Uncomplicated plays with the textures and tonality of each layer until the drop you never thought was going to come. Rather than having you wait for the drop, Not Uncomplicated totally subverts your expectations with Hypercube with the sheer amount of progression found in the mix. What starts out as a slightly lucid, yet still infinitely arrestive mix of electronica transcends into absolute aural chaos and hit you with the same subtlety as a brick in the face.

NightBird x Smash Hit Combo: Spin the Wheel: The Darkest Dubstep You’ll Hear This Year

Electro & Bass Label Electronyze Me have released yet another sensational production by the French artist NightBird. The Dubstep Metal producer turned his deft hands to Smash Hit Combo’s “Spin the Wheel” to create a refreshingly rare mash up of Dubstep and Metal. It’s pretty safe to say that you won’t find an EDM track as filthy as this. With no exaggeration it makes Nine Inch Nails sound like a Mariah Carey ballad. The Rap Metal vocals were the perfect introduction to the angst-driven offering of pioneering electronica. Whilst the metalcore screamo vocals perfectly matched the electrifyingly harsh beats which had all the dub and reverberant Industrial fuzz you could ever dream of.

Xyno – With You: Come Down with Some Ambient Dubstep

Xyno’s latest hit With You featuring Nina Sung is the musicians first attempt at the genre smash of Melodic Dubstep. The debut track With You proves to be the perfect medley of sonorous sound. This track is perfect for the introduction of dubstep it follows all of the same pace with a powerful, hard hitting baseline that’s softly muted to resonate under the talented vocals of Nina Sung.

If you’re a fan of M83 and London Grammar, or any other contemporary minimalist Indie Pop sound, this mix is definitely for you. Whilst Xyno is a relatively fresh-faced contender to the world of music production his music wouldn’t have you believe it. His tracks are mixed with a plethora of layers giving the sound ubiquitous complexity that you can fully immerse yourself within. The choice of Nina Sung’s haunting vocals, was undeniably the highlight of the track. If she was given better lyrics to work with this track would become a piece of art, it deserves to be.
