Country Soul

Unravel to D’Arc’s Family Jams’ psychedelically sweet vintage soul in ‘Unwind’.

After hearing the debut album, if someone told me D’Arc’s Family Jams is the new sonic moniker of Duncan Trussell, I wouldn’t hesitate to believe them. The eccentric synth lines that are drenched in retro Americana soul are sweeter than honey, but there’s no sugaring away the artistic merit of this spacey psychedelic country-rock-rooted LP, which will undoubtedly see the South Jersey-residing brothers go far.

Anticipate Beatles-ESQUE dual harmonies by the smorgasbord with aperitifs of funk-riding bass, kaleidoscopic guitar melodies and lashing of vintage tones in the standout single, Unwind. If you’re sick of hearing egos take the lead, and you’re desperate for a soul-lightening sonic experience, slip into the delectable ease of this devilishly promising debut. If anyone has what it takes to knock Jack White off his perpetual pedestal, it is D’Arc’s Family Jams.

The debut album from D’Arc’s Family Jams will officially release on March 9th. Catch it on SoundCloud.

London’s Savannah Gardener obliterated the boundary between country and soul in ‘City of Cowboys’.

Her sound may scream Nashville, but Savannah Gardener’s roots are implanted in London’s landscape; she’s captivated audiences across the breadth of it, and she’s set to swoon plenty more with her latest single, City of Cowboys.

How many songwriters have perpetuated the myth that making one single entity your ENTIRE world is romantic? Millions? All it took was one soulfully demure single from Savannah Gardener to dispel it. Her emboldening approach to lyricism on the subjects of heartbreak, adversity and triumph carries an intuitive resonance that makes her soundscapes captivating from the first breath.

The twang of the bluegrassy resonator guitars, the accordance of the gentle chords and her anachronistically sweet vocals pull together to deliver the ultimate urban county redemption story that you’ll want to aurally turn the pages of time after time.

City of Cowboys is now available to stream on SoundCloud.

Caitlin Jemma – Lean on My Love: The Sound of the Nevada Sun

Love Notes by Caitlin Jemma

Soul Folk Singer Songwriter & guitarist Caitlin Jemma  sent us the track Lean on My Love, which is just one of the stunning tracks off her new album ‘Love Notes’. Lean on My Love along with the rest of Catilins Album will be available to download & stream for Folk aficionados from 1st May 2018. The Nevada based ‘Country-girl’s’ classic styling really brings this track to life around her not so traditional fusion of Blues, Swing, Country and Soul. Lean on My Love was produced by a little help from Caitlin Jemma’s Fiddle & Guitar/Bass playing friends Megan Graham and Michael Steinkirchner.

Together, they collectively create an electric cacophony of contemporary Country that has all the heart of the original sounds, yet with a succinct pioneering edge that makes Caitlin stand out from the rest of her competition. Her genre-defying sound isn’t something that the world can ignore for long.

Check out Caitlin Jemma’s album Love Notes and pre-order the album to hear this amazing track.
