Cast aside embitterment with Anaté’s celestially panoramic sophomore single ‘First Time’

In 2021, it’s harder than usual to create everlasting positive memories, with timely their sophomore release, ‘First Time’, alt-electronic pop duo, Anaté, invite the listener to rekindle the magic of affable memories have become soured by embitterment.

First Time asks the listener to stop throwing previously cherished memories away by the wayside just because the co-creator of them is no longer around. It’s a difficult request to make, but through the celestially panoramic alchemy of this intrinsically stylistic feat of downtempo electronic pop, you won’t just feel yourself become open to suggestion. You’ll feel floods of nostalgic imagery finding synergy with the melodic tides of the sensual yet powerful release.

If the difference between Anaté’s debut and sophomore single tells us anything, it’s to always expect the unexpected. Yet, one constant is the depth of the lyricism which works alongside their intoxicating sound.

First Time may not fit the usual perennial pop earworm mould, but it’s all the more unforgettable for it. Anaté’s succinct command of melodies and ability to offer a resounding directness with their music will undoubtedly see them go far in 2021 and beyond. If you’re sick of artists who only scratch at the surface of superficiality with their music, it’s time to start paying attention to Anaté.

To revel in some amorous nostalgia for yourselves, you can check out First Time which was released on January 13th, 2021 via Spotify.

Dark Electro Pop duo Anaté have debuted their emboldening single ‘Confusion’

Confusion’ is the darkly beguiling standout single from lockdown-born multi-national alt-electro-pop duo, Anaté’s forthcoming debut album, ‘Confessions’. It serves as the perfect introduction to the European artist’s empoweringly soulful style. Given the state of collective uncertainty which 2021 has instilled in psyches across the globe, it has ‘playlist staple’ written all over it.

Confusion opens up the conversation about duality and the conflict which courses between our intrinsic desire and the desires we sate because of societal expectation. There’s been plenty of talk in recent years about ‘living your best life’, Anaté put the emphasis on *your* with their exhilaratingly polished track which allows layers of overlapping vocals to trip over themselves, illustrating the essence of the track.

Confusion also lingers in the trippy downtempo production which mimics the disjointing nature of doubt and uncertainty. The glitchy beats are efficacious enough to resonate with your own experiences of confusion and offer consoling validation by the affirmation that the rest of the world feels exactly the same, despite pretences of togetherness.

With their ability to paint a picture of agitation while also allowing the listener to indulge a track which is powerful enough to remove the shackles of societal pressure, we’re all too eager to hear what the rest of the Trip-Hop-inspired album delivers.

Any fans of Hooverphonic, Morcheeba and Massive Attack will undoubtedly want this trailblazingly emboldening artist on their radar.

Anaté’s single, Confusion, is available to stream via Spotify.

Slip into David Taylor’s transcendently light mix “hours”

Australian Electronica artist and producer David Taylor has recently released their distinctively sweet Lo-Fi Chill EP 050392. The perfect introduction to their catharsis-spilling sound is “hours”.

The hazily blissful track which comes with slight Chill Hop nuances may not easily squeeze into any constrained branch of Electronica, but it does ooze potent and organic good vibes. With the warm tones and the transcendently light textures, hours is an incredibly easy track to slip into and get pulled along by the seamless reverb-soaked progressions.

It’s not every day we can say the Electronica we hear serves up plenty of soul, but discernibly, David Taylor isn’t your average producer. After hearing their latest release, we’re stoked to hear where their sound which drips with commercial potential takes them next.

You can check out David Taylor’s EP 050392 for yourselves via Spotify.

Jase Emeka has dropped their trippy and playful high-vibe Hip Hop single “The Dream”

UK-based experimental Hip Hop artist Jase Emeka has dropped their most playfully inventive single yet with “The Dream”. It can be hard to find authenticity amongst up and coming artists, but you’d be hard-pressed to find an artist offering as much soulful charisma as Jase.

The Dream kicks off with an extended trippy and hazy instrumental prelude before Jase comes in with his humility-soaked spoken word vocals. Of all the Hip Hop intros I’ve heard as of late, none allowed me to feel as endeared as The Dream did.

When the slow tempo smooth Rap bars kick in, you’re hooked by the lyrical melodies which find perfect synergy with the light, warm and grooving beats. For my sanity’s sake, I’ll definitely be placing The Dream on my playlists and Jase on my radar. If dreamy melodic Hip Hop which oozes soul is your bag, I’d highly recommend that you do the same.

Lose yourself in the dreamy Jazz-laced layers of Young Dad’s ambient Hip Hop single “Shine on You” ft Symone.

Shine on You is the concluding single on breaking Hip Hop artist Young Dad’s dreamy jazz-laden album “On a Flight from Phoenix”. Expect warm tones, organic good vibes, and pure downtempo aural bliss.

To create an indulgently dynamic track, Young Dad teamed up with vocalist Symone whose magnetic harmonies perfectly match Young Dad’s soulfully inviting Rap style.

His words are as resolving and connectable as the smooth ambient rhythms which Shine on You was crafted with. My soul feels suitably lighter after hearing it.

If you’re in need of some aural catharsis yourselves, you can check out Shine on You for yourselves along with the rest of Young Dad’s 2020 album via Spotify.

Dozy Boi – Reality: Absorbingly Exotic Jazz-Soaked Chill Hop

UK-based Up and coming Hip Hop artist and producer Dozy Boi has recently dropped their sublimely cathartic Chill Hop album “Here”, you might want to prepare your Lo-Fi Chill Hop playlists right about now.

While each single carries an arsenal of ambience, the best introduction to Dozy Boi’s tension-stripping approach to production is the standout single “Reality”.

The only interruption to the soft mellifluous Jazz-soaked beats is a vocal sample which implores you to question your perception of reality. Ordinarily, that would drive me into an existential crisis, but thanks to the absorbingly exotic textures found in Reality, it’s all too easy to succumb to the smooth and comforting vibes.

You can check out Reality along with the rest of Dozy Boi’s debut album which dropped in May 2020 for yourselves by heading over to Spotify now.

Pop meets Chill Hop in IIsaiah Bennett’s Blissfully Sweet 3rd single “Ride with Me”

While some artists have felt hindered by the lockdown, up and coming Pop artist IIsaiah Bennett has perceptibly been inspired and put his talent to good use.

After making their debut with “Corona” and following it up with the incredible sophomore release “Right Here”, they’ve dropped yet another blissfully sweet single “Ride with Me”. The resonance within the track allows it to unfold like an aural cuddle. That’s as close to a cuddle as some people are going to get these days.

With rhythmically magnetic nuances of Hip Hop in the Pop mix, Ride with Me will add plenty of high vibe groove to your playlists. The melodic beats may be soft, but there’s little chance you’ll forget the deftly orchestrated hit which you’ll be all too happy to give repeat attention.

For their seminal single This is the Day Atlanta-based up and coming Hip Hop artist dotCom teamed up with Jtuck to create a hypnotically cathartic feat of smooth Trip Hop which is all too easy to sink into.

The ambiently sweet production has an insanely strong magnetic pull which allows you to lock into the transfixing Rap bars and pay careful attention to the wit and wisdom which the lyrics were born from.

This is the Day is a track you hit play on and it allows you to instantly receive gratification. Tension is soon stripped by the ethereally light melodic beats while dotCom and Jtuck verse their succinctly metered poetry leaving you inspired by the insightful introspection.
