Philadelphia Skate Punk Rockers Merit Maker drop in with ”Playing The Part”

https://soundcloud.com/merit-maker/lp_track5

Merit Maker is the music project of bassist and vocalist from Philadelphia’s Joe Stanton. All songs are original material written, composed and performed by Joe with the collaboration of other music artists from his town.

Playing The Part” is the rocking punk rock song that we used to listen to back in the 90’s. There is so much Blink 182 and Green Day mixed in here that is brought me back to those times. With such an impressive energy here, I absolutely love the vibe here. With flying vocals to unashamedly smashing drums, this is the track we needed to fly through the year.

Joe Stanton and his band Merit Maker impress with his fast and furious punk rock skating soundtrack. This is sweaty music for those who love and appreciate the genre. ”Playing The Part” is one of those tracks that you will want to play very loud this summer.

ATR releases Icarus Died In Vain: It’s loud and the perfect representation of Rock

ATR has dropped their single ‘Icarus Died In Vain’, giving that full on Rock and Roll sound, making sure it’s extremely loud.

Within the first few seconds the chaos begins, amping up the volume giving it that real in your face sound, it’s heavy but in a good way and continues that throughout. Clashing on the drums, the insane shreds on the guitar, giving it this real thunderous instrumentation.

The vocals are fairly rough and harsh, really keeping that loudness the same, piercing through the instrumentation. Having the occasional high-pitched shriek halfway through, it’s dark, fairly peculiar and rather unique, but it’s one hell of a Rock song and one that deserves all the recognition it gets.

Be sure to listen to ATR’s piece because it’s one you won’t want to miss, especially if you’re into music that’s more on the heavy side.

The Falling – Carry On – Indie Band Combines Lush Atmospheric Melodies With Energetic And Uplifting Hooks

https://youtu.be/9ZItil_-UAA

The Falling are an exciting band offering an innovative take on indie rock and pop. Their recent release, “Carry On”, is a perfect example of the artist’s innovative and direct twist, showcasing what the band can bring to the table.

What really strikes me about The Falling’s music is certainly the band’s remarkable ability to find a compromise between textures and melodies. The dense atmosphere in the track is almost palpable. Sitting here listening with my headphones, I feel really entranced into the song, as if I was right there, experiencing the musical landscape on a first-hand basis. The ability to create a fully immersive musical experience should not be taken lightly, as very few artists are able to create such a deeply engaging tone in a setting such as pop/rock music, which generally could fall flat at times.

On the other hand, The Falling managed to keep their new song appealing and direct, while retaining a lot of credibility and vision. Who said catchy music could not be authentic and inspirational?

Paper Sweaters Bring Back The Dynamic Sound of Pop-Punk With “N L M B”

Paper Sweaters bring back the dynamic sound of Pop-Punk with their brand new single, NLBM.

The track immediately strikes for its amazing guitar tone. The overdrives are creamy, saturated and crunchy, going for a full on wall of sound that has a lot of character to it.

The drums come in full-on, going for a massive tone, immediately echoing the work of artists such as Blink-182, MxPx, or Green Day.

Paper Sweaters managed to create a song that feels authentic, direct and driven, a great return to the “less is more” philosophy, proving that a few simple elements in a mix can do wonders when it comes to create energy and momentum in a song. Paper Sweaters stay true to their melodic punk roots, with energy, vibrancy and melody, combined into one package.

The band has a special way to combine their passion for classic Pop-Punk with a more modern and personable approach, giving them a very distinctive sound and a unique formula.

Check out B.F.R. ‘The Great Unknown’ sometimes simplicity works best

https://youtu.be/vTk-dL1svag

When it comes to rock music, sometimes simplicity works best. This is definitely the case for B.F.R. – This band set out to create a catchy and direct tone with lots of attitude and energy. The song is a great blend of pop, rock, punk, and indie: imagine what it would sound like if Blink-182 were to jam with Coldplay! This might sound a little weird, but if I picture that “fantasy” collaboration in my mind, I would probably imagine the hypothetical resulting jams to sound something like “The Great Unknown”!

The song is atmospheric and textural, yet direct and fresh. With “The Great Unknown”, this band set out to channel their spontaneity through a simple, yet engaging set of melodies and beats. The drums are direct and sustained, while the guitars are crisp – the sound is driven, yet ever so slightly, allowing the guitars to breathe and still have somewhat of a “clean” tone that offers more defined melodies.
