The Imperial M.B. Ran with Luxe Old School Style in His Latest Alt-Hip Hop Track, Ignorant

The Imperial M.B. brought back the luxe style of Tupac and Biggie in his latest single, Ignorant, which serves the straight out of Compton grit along with nuanced alt-rock elements in the instrumentals through the buzz saw guitars and searing oscillating effects.

It is probably safe to say that not many up and coming hip hop artists in 2022 succeed when it comes to arresting production, vocal conviction and emotionally charged lyrics, but notably, The Imperial M.B. is a triple threat. At the very least, he is one to watch.

Eli Da Vincii – Melancholic chilled Hip Hop with ‘I’m Gone’

Born in Brooklyn, NYC, the arguable birthplace of Hip Hop, Da Vincii grew up on the flow of Biggie, Tupac, Lauren Hill, and Mary J Blige, and that, along with the obvious Eminem and Dre comparisons too, comes through in his music.

‘I’m gone’, from Da Vincii’s new EP ‘Melancholy, is an outstanding piece of chilled hip hop that’s…well…melancholy in its lyrical content. Da Vincii has some excellent vocal flow, his delivery perfectly suiting the track. The beats he’s overlaying work perfectly too, suiting the downbeat nature of the lyrics. It could work beautifully as the incidentals in a movie, think 8-Mile obviously, or Detroit; it’s got that sort of autobiographical story-telling narrative. It’s an absolute stormer of a track.

GD4L has paired their blazing beats with catchy lyricism yet again with “Time on Time”

Up and coming rapper GD4L has recently dropped their ground-breaking release Time on Time. After two years tearing up the underground with their blazing beats and catchy lyricism, GD4L attracted plenty of hype around their relentlessly flawless grind.

Yet, Time on Time stands as the perfect testament to how far their sound has come. Any fans of NAS, Biggie, Jay Z and Kanye are sure to appreciate the nuance behind his freshly crafted sound which finds a synergetic balance between mesmeric instrumental grooves and resounding lyrical conviction.
