Ambient Trap

DEPRESSION by BULLYY GREY Refined Raw Self-Exposure Through A Cinematically Candid Dream Trap Spiral of Truth

BULLYY GREY captured the thickness of the malaise of depression with DEPRESSION, his latest heart-on-sleeve hit of melodic trap. From the prelude of tentatively delicate guitar strings resounding in an ethereal atmosphere, the single refuses to pull any punches as BULLYY GREY lays it all on the line and exposes the raw reality of depression.

The inertia demands that you remain in stasis under the black cloud, while the dreams you once held start to feel too heavy to carry adds to the weight of the track; DEPRESSION understands that state with bruising precision, letting its cinematically ambient indie dream-trap production open up like a room where the air has become difficult to breathe. Each switch-up serves to expose another raw nerve as BULLYY GREY attempts to find the light away from the swamp of sinking self-esteem.

There are contours of cloud rap through the curves of the production, yet the independent artist refuses to land cleanly in one given territory. He stays in his own lane by exploring the wider urban spectrum, pulling melodic vulnerability, trap pressure, ambient haze, and raw confession into a single emotionally loaded transmission.

DEPRESSION is now available to stream on all major platforms, including Spotify.

Cosmic Canna Beats submerged trap into synaesthetic tranquillity with ‘before i fade’

Cosmic Canna Beats

The latest instrumental from Cosmic Canna Beats, before I fade, delivers a tidal wave of ambient azure synaesthesia. The meditative release feels oceanic in its trap-driven currents, where the catharsis rises and falls with hypnotic precision. Each beat lands like a soft ripple before dissolving into the lush textures that form the track’s lucid emotional core. It’s a soundscape that moves with the rhythm of reflection, fluid and deliberate, as if the sound itself is exhaling.

Within before I fade, the trap foundation breathes beneath atmospheric layers that feel drenched in light and saltwater melancholy. The 808s resonate as low tides pulling back on glimmering high frequencies, creating a steady sense of motion that mirrors the quiet persistence of trying to hold on to feeling before it dissolves. The production never overreaches. Instead, it guides the listener through a meditative space where colour becomes emotion and sound becomes texture. Cosmic Canna Beats achieves what many producers aim for yet rarely reach—an authentic multi-sensory experience that strips the tension from your soul.

The Boston-based producer, known offstage as Chrisi B, continues to cultivate a world where emotion dictates rhythm and tone. His ongoing Blue Trap project explores what it means to hear and feel the colour blue through ambient, cinematic trap instrumentals that merge introspection with vibrancy. In before I fade, that concept reaches a new depth, confirming Cosmic Canna Beats’ instinctive grasp of musical storytelling through texture and restraint.

before I fade is now available on all major streaming platforms, including SoundCloud.

Kilabear sang the blasé trap blues in his melodic hit, IDC

The 18-year-old Baltimore-born Gettysburg, PA-raised rap artist, Kilabear, has proven to be one of the most dynamic trap artists in the game since he started releasing his music in 2019. Whether he’s creating adrenalizing high-octane hook-filled hits or getting mellow with his euphonically polyphonic keys & synths, one thing remains a constant – his determination to make each of his projects visceral and emotion-driven.

His standout single, IDC, from his 2022 LP, 101, is an immersive synthesis of blissfully toned chiptune melodies and honeyed harmonies arranged in a sharp killer cadence. While Kilabear signs the blasé trap blues, he invites his listener into a world of escapism, which stems from his tendency to use music as an outlet and sanctuary.

After losing his dad when he was two years old and being passed from domestic pillar to post as his family contended with financial issues, he’s experienced the extreme lows that give him a razor-sharp sense of resonant empathy, which is just one of the reasons why his fans can’t get enough of his relatable, raw, and melancholic tracks.

Stream & purchase IDC on Apple Music or add the track to your Spotify playlists.

Young Monte delivers chill trap transcendence in his latest release, Sky

Young Monte

Chill trap originator, Young Monte, has added yet another downtempo vibe-out staple to his collection. The chill trap remix of his single Sky plays with ethereal layers of reverb, neo-classic piano keys, a meditative 808 rattle and Young Monte’s hypnotically stretched out low timbered vocals that bring a resounding depth to the otherwise transcendent release.

Based on the catharsis that can easily be abstracted from the artfully laidback soundscape, we can only hope he has a chill trap mixtape in the works. My soul feels infinitely lighter for immersing it in sky. He’s definitely one for the radar.

George Bien – scared of planes w/ emily: Emotionally Raw, Sonically Ethereal Trap

Lil Peep left plenty of inspiration in his wake; a potent shot of it can be found in the latest single, scared of planes, by the up and coming alt hip hop artist, George Bien.

In the ambient and atmospheric track, the confessional lyricism stings as it resonates, but there’s no taking the catharsis out of the dreamy mellifluous grooves. George Bien has exactly what it takes to define the future of hip hop with his emotionally raw, sonically ethereal style that we can’t wait to hear more of. At 21-years old, the Santa Cruz-based newcomer has already proven his pioneer potential. He is a force to be reckoned with from here on out.

Chill trap prodigy Young Monte teases his hypnotically soulful sound in his latest demo.

Chill trap newcomer, Young Monte, has been teasing the airwaves with his short and sweet demo releases; his latest chillwave demo efficaciously caught our attention; it is enough to change your definition of mellow.

Despite the minimalism in the instrumentals, there is nothing about the easy, wavy grooves that feels sparse. The clever use of rhythmic ambience and spatial effect allowed the demo to deliver catharsis with a serious side-serve of soul, which mostly comes as a side-effect of the artists hypnotically smooth vocal timbre. We can’t wait to hear a full chillwave trap track from Young Monte; he’s discernibly one to watch.

Vibe in style with 12WELVE ambient lo-fi trap track, Wake Up

With his lucid bilingual rap bars falling into the ambient lo-fi trap beats, Latino rapper and producer 12WELVE’s latest single, Wake Up, is as invigorating as it is indulgently mellow.

The Houston, Texas-based artist takes inspiration from the likes of The Weeknd, 88GLAM and Kanye West and wears his influences on his aural sleeve in the short and sweet hit which keeps the production simple to leave plenty of room for the resounding emotion in this vibing pensive hit.

Wake Up is the second single released from 12WELVE’s upcoming album, Forever My Love, where betrayal, love, anger and glamour will be uniquely explored. If you like to keep your chill wave playlists fresh, we’d recommend saving a spot on your radar.

Paul DoggerTee – She’s Famous on TikTok: Hazy Downtempo Hip Hop

The concept of fame is constantly in flux. Now, being famous on TikTok is a thing, and while I’m not entirely sure that’s a good thing or not, I can say with absolute certainty that Paul DoggerTee’s latest single “She’s Famous on TikTok” definitely is.

The ambiently playful track provides a downtempo dreamscape to slip into as you appreciate their modern stylistic production style and their sense of humour. The ambiguously hazy love song leaves plenty to your imagination as you listen to the beats weave through progressions and the vocals which slightly bleed into the mix for the ultimate cathartic vibe.
