Kofi Jamar x Ice Prince x Khaligraph Jones releases latest single In The City

A Hip-Hop. Afrobeats and Rap hit ‘In The City’ from Kofi Jamar, Ice Prince and Khaligraph Jones, a combination of vocal ranges, one killer beat and pure energy.

Three artists in a Rap song, each with different styles of vocals and offering a variety of tones, it’s safe to say that even though it feels like there’s a lot going on, that’s what makes this such a hit. The vocal tones that each artist offers are so diverse, it’s interesting to listen too when you can hear the change in pace, in pitch and the way in which it flows with the beat and each voice stands out.

The way in which it goes from fairly slow pace to really amping up the volume and getting faster and faster the Raps begin to get a lot quicker, giving you that real feel good energy as you listen.

In The City has such a rapturous rhythm, it really does show why Rap and Hip-Hop are the highest listened to styles of music.

Yorz Trulee – The Motion: Salaciously Sweet Afrobeats

After a string of successful singles, up and coming artist Yorz Trulee has released his latest 2019 single “The Motion”. The Motion is a smooth work of Afrobeat alchemy, the track starts off with a slow and steady groove before picking up the pace in the salaciously sweet mix. Even if you’re not familiar with Yorz Trulee’s earlier work the fluidity in the rhythms make the standout single instantly accessible. By the time the track drew to a close, there was a slight feeling that there was a tad too much repetition within the Motion with minimal progression in the sound. But, if you’re looking for a vibrant Afrobeat track to sink into, you really can’t go wrong with the seamless perfectly-mastered layers of Yorz Trulee’s latest single.

YayRaven – Are You Ready ft. Rico Maz: Ambiently Intricate Afrobeats

ARE YOU READY by (feat Rico Maz)

London-based artist YayRaven has recently released their latest single “Are You Ready” after teaming up with Rico Maz to create one of the freshest Afrobeat hits we’ve heard this year.

The unique infusion of R&B, Pop and Trap produced a hyped, yet melodic beat with plenty of intricacy courtesy of reverberant synth and constantly kicking 808’s. Whilst the roots of R&B are still palpable, so is the fact that YayRaven isn’t just trying to stay ahead of the curve with her experimental sound, she’s creating It. It’s not often that you come across Trap music that is as easy to listen to as breathing. The lyrics are kept simple and immersive, the narrative of them may not grip you, but the hooks will.

You can stream and order Are You Ready for yourselves by heading over to BandCamp now.
