Where on earth has Stavy been hiding his ability to wax lyrical?
With the first bar in his latest track My Way it’s evident that Stavy is a Hip Hop artist with a poetically blessed talent when it comes to lyricism.
His enviable command over meter and rhyme follows through to his versing. Yet, the sentiment behind the lyricism becomes even more resonant alongside his playfully charming ability to spit bars and punchlines with more flavour than the most infamous of Hip Hop artists.
Yet, what I really loved about My Way, was the humble nature that the track had been palpably constructed under, there was no self-aggrandized aggression, it was sweet, harmonious, and in short it was perfection. The melodic, down-tempo beat is a synergetic match for the vocals and progresses through an infusion of R&B and Trap. It’s one hell of a cocktail.
