Snir Yamin – Down the Line: An Instrumentally Light, Emotionally Weighted Reinvention of Alt Rock

Snir Yamin’s latest single ‘Down the Line’ may take a little time to pick up the momentum, but once the sentiment behind the track hits you it’s hard not to revel in the jangly indie pop anthem which is fused with plenty emotive resonance. The New York based singer-songwriters vocals are arrestingly accessible which draw you into the narrative of melancholic introspection of Down the Line. The notes from the instrumentals may be subtle and light, yet he emotional weight behind Down the Line is enough to ground you. I always get a little nervous when I see a band labelled as ‘Alt Rock’, I prepare to hear a reinvention of a sound that has been done to death, but with Snir Yamin’s personably sweet approach it’s pretty impossible to find his style comparable to any other artist.
