Slim the Phoenix released her latest single One Destiny on January 30th, 2018 and the single may be one of the most pioneering Trap mixes I have heard this year. I was starting to believe that the genre could no longer hold any surprises for me to unravel through the quintessential soundscapes; Slim the Phoenix showed me just how wrong I was with her latest single which runs through the verses captivating you by the almost spoken word poetry. The delivery of the lyrics allows you to hang on to each visceral word exuded by Slim the Phoenix as she picks up momentum and synergy with the beat which is matched to her lyricism with perfection. The imagery which is contained within the lyrics is almost surreal, yet, the pious organ playing has a succinct way of bringing you back down to earth around the melodic, down-tempo 808 beats.
