Sik Mule – Smile at the Devil: Sultry and Slick Hard Rock

Every so often an Alt Rock artist emerges who makes the painful endeavour of trudging through the assimilative array of unimaginative music worth it. After listening to Sik Mule’s single “Smile at the Devil” we can confirm that they’re one of the rare authentically alluring powerhouses bringing hard-hitting rock into a brand-new era.

There’s still the sultry slick rhythm in the guitars and restraint-less swagger in the vocals. But there are also plenty of other aural treats thrown into Smile at the Devil such as tension building minimalistic blues riffs soaring around slightly ominous vocals and occultist lyrics.

The Houston, Texas-based artist is perceptibly one to watch. There may be plenty of bands which play with spooky themes, but none of them quite do it in the same irresistibly bluesy manner as Sik Mule
