Off the upcoming EP Sunshine, SHANTÉH releases her new single KING featuring Josh Kye.
Warm synth sounds and syncopated percussive loops are the opening trick to a song rooted in jungle music, and well portrays that Jamaican atmosphere London has been forging since the early 90’s. If you’re familiar with the South London area, you know where I’m going with this.
SHANTÉH neatly combines her heritage with a pinch of R&B style you’ve probably seen with artists such as Lauren Hill. As soon as her voice entwines with Josh Kye’s, the whole feel becomes way more soulful achieving a peak of artistic (and why not, personal) passion, almost romance, that only a talented duo can capture.
Being a singer, rapper, songwriter and producer, SHANTÉH inevitably is “the king of this jungle” – as she sings in the song – and you shouldn’t wait any longer to check out KING for yourself on Youtube.
