Losing a friend is a tough experience and something that may haunt you forever. Losing your own blood is on another level and ‘Alan Walker’ does a fine job in paying tribute in this touching song.
‘Alan Walker’ has been in the game for about a year now dropping numerous of songs on SoundCloud and a previous EP called “Truth Be Told” under the name “Duhkidd”. He changed his name a couple months ago because he wanted to rep his real name. A fair move and completely understandable.
‘’Lost My Brother’’ ft Tyler Gifted is a good track and one that should receive lots of love all over Connecticut and beyond.
“Haven” is the standout track from up and coming Alt Pop artist Ruby Layne’s 2020 darkly arrestive self-titled EP. Pop doesn’t come much more atmospheric than this without making any compromise on the accessibility.
The moody and ominous tones will hook you in from the first verse. From there on out, you’ll be enveloped in a soundscape which finds the perfect balance between Alt Rock and Pop. Boasting the same dynamic vocal style as Evanescence’s Amy Lee along with a Post-Punk-laced moody atmospheric instrumental arrangement complete with pensive piano keys and angular guitars, Haven is a track which you’ll struggle to forget.
Ruby Layne may be fresh from her inception, but it’s already perceptibly clear that she has plenty to offer, and we’re all too excited to hear it.

Up and coming Indie artist Haven has demonstrated their powers of aural transfixion with their debut single “Somewhere Brighter”.
With the Jangle Pop guitar progressions, a Post-Punk tone creeping in through the basslines, and Haven’s instantly magnetic vocals, debut singles don’t come much more exciting than this.
Around the Pop sensibilities of the soundscape, there is also layers of soft Alt 90s Grunge sound combined with melodies which aren’t too dissimilar from bands as Blink 182. There may be a slightly Lo-Fi feel to Somewhere Brighter, but this only amplifies the emotivity in the seamlessly progressive single.
The single kicks off with soft vocals around hazy, sunny layers of reverb spilling from the guitars before building into a captivating feat of pioneering Indie which is all too tempting to play on repeat.

Haven’s single Take Me Away, is one of those rare tracks you listen to and it instantly hits you with familiarity, the accessible EDM Pop hit is set at the perfect tempo for you just to slip into. Every pitch sits at the perfect level to allow this iridescently hyped Pop track to resonate with you, as you get caught up with the beat and the viscerally powerful vocals at the same time – it makes for quite the aural experience.
Haven’s take on contemporary Pop music is pretty much as refreshing as it gets, there are no hints of fragility or nativity in her vocals, just pure, uplifting empowerment which bleeds through into the mic as the romantically inclined lyrics are versed. From the track progression you can expect deep, dubbed drops a plenty around the lush hooks which make this track so immediately amiable.

Pop singer songwriter haven has just released her debut EP ‘Escape’, I wasn’t prepared for the connection that I would make with the sound. Haven’s contemporary blissful stylistic approach to her music won me over before the first verse was through. The title track from Haven’s EP has just set the bar for Pop artists everywhere. The sound is grounding yet at the same time uplifting, how she created that paradox in a track I’m not sure. But, I can guarantee you will feel every emotion which is pensively projected into the microphone from the emerging artist. After checking out Haven’s entire EP, it feels as though I’ve been on an emotional roller coaster. If more Pop artists were reminiscent of Haven, I have no doubt that the genre would gain infinitely more respect. There isn’t the slightest hint of plasticity to her ethereal sound.
You can check out Haven’s latest sensually soulful Pop hit Escape and the rest of her debut EP which was released on April 13th, 2018 on SoundCloud now or head on over to Haven’s website for more music & info.
If I don’t hear this track on the radio in the next few months I will have officially fallen out with mainstream music channels.
JOSH ON CAFFEINE has made his heart-breakingly stunning debut with the genre-bending single “Forward”. The Alt-Pop Soundscape draws in Neo-Classic nuances to ensure that the striking notes sting with maximum potency while elements of Folk to give Forward a natural, authentic and expressive air.
There’s a rare humility found in JOSH ON CAFFEINE’s lyrics and vocals and their candid lyrical style is perfectly complemented by their approach to production which perceptibly pays no mind to archetypal constraints. I haven’t been this enamoured by an artist since I discovered Bill Ryder-Jones’ tenderly compelling style.
The hauntingly sweet earworm will stay with you for long after it has faded to a quiescent close. Naturally, we can’t wait to hear what comes next from JOSH ON CAFFEINE.

The mysterious Blackeneddagger returns with an old school drum and base ode to the past. This is a fantastic track to get 2020 jumping again with its dark pointed edge and gritty sound.
The moody beat turns after while and is ominously bellowed out of the speakers as this one ramps up. I feel like I’m in a club in a sweaty and hot City while grooving to this one all night. The sound is a times distorted and for good measure. Taken off new album ”Through the Silence” this is a fantastic and furious deep dub vibe to get through life.
”Confess” is the new track from the producer Blackeneddagger who slides in with real vengeance here. He bites through the beat like a hungry vampire and has clawed his way in. Things haven’t always been easy but this musician is confident and feels that this is the moment. This new track is a perfectly edgy bounce to the crazy year of 2020.
Sometimes things happen during the worst of times. You might doubt yourself and feel that you are not talented enough to write a song or sing. Then, you get this urge to do the thing you haven’t done yet. Try. I have just been inspired by an artist who has done so much in 3 months that it actually blows my mind. This is the story of AJ and her song ”Bottom Of The Blue”.
With an indie-blues country type of feel, you can’t help but fall in love with AJ. She made a change and used her fear to make something so special. This is what this song is all about. Being at the bottom and having the courage to rise to the top by trying. She has developed into a fine singer-songwriter in such a short space of time and that is so impressive.
AJ’s vocal ability is in full swing here and her voice makes the hairs on my arms stand up in excitement. ”Bottom Of The Blue” might end up as a movie one day. This is the story of courage and heart to break through your mind. Conquering your fears and making beautiful music.

Pop singer-songwriter Arcana has recently released her playlist-worthy debut “Stockholm Syndrome”. Moody Pop may be in trend, but Arcana set the bar with her dark and stormy yet melodic and light transfixing track.
Her bold and archetype-smashing approach to production ensured that you’ll be transfixed by the Alt-Indie Pop hit from the first verse. Expect serpentine rhythms, sultry yet viscerally expressive vocals and plenty of aural curveballs which will immerse you deeper into the modern and stylistic soundscape.
Debut singles don’t often come as flawlessly radio-ready as Stockholm Syndrome. Even if you haven’t experienced Stockholm syndrome in some capacity in your own life, you’re sure to find the resonance in Arcana’s arcanely arrestive single. She’s definitely one to watch. Get her on your radar.
Stockholm Syndrome is now available to stream via all major platforms via this link.
