Sadie Jemmett – London Love Songs: An Ethereally Striking Ballad from one of London’s Fastest Rising Talents

It took me the first verse of Sadie Jemmett’s latest single “London Love Songs” to become irresolutely captivated by the alluring tonality of her vocal capacity which has a striking reminiscence to the late and great Dolores O’Riordan.

Despite what the title would suggest, London Love Songs is by no means your average romantic ballad. Melancholy drips through each instrumental arrangement and the weight of the lyricism gives you little say in whether it resonates or not. When it comes to singer-songwriters, it can be hard to find any distinguishing factors between them, yet, Sadie Jemmett’s style has an ethereally enthralling capacity which can only be described as a work of alchemy. I’ve never found London an overly romantic city to be found in, but if any single had the capability of changing my mind, it’s London Love Songs.
