Rand Bowman – Mystery of Love: Prodigally Infectious Pop Rock

I’m not all too sure why when Rand Bowman dropped the line “I don’t love you anymore”, in the first verse of his latest track Mystery of Love my stomach dropped. But I’m sure it has a little to do with the up and coming artist’s ability to create an emotive sound with his angelic Pop Rock arrangements. Yet, unlike most Pop Rock tracks, Rand Bowman allows his guitar riffs to take the lead through the rhythmically beguiling progression.

Also, I’m not sure if it’s me, but there’s a bit of Bowie behind his vocals in Mystery of Love, however let it never be said that Mystery of Love is an assimilation of any predecessor’s sound. The prodigally infectious melodies speak volumes of Rand Bowman’s status as a professional multi-instrumentalist and song writer and I can’t wait to hear where his sound takes him next. There’s a traditional tonality to all of his tracks, especially the unforgettable single Lose My Mind which I had the pleasure of checking out earlier this year.
