If Beenie Man did more romantic renditions, they’d probably turn out something a little like Qwiz Richards latest track What’s Up with You. Qwiz Richards has a timeless approach to R&B Hip Hop that will surely never go out of style. The contrast between the male and female vocals created the perfect resonant vibe behind the track, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with Qwiz Richards vocal style, it’s sweet, it’s succinct and blissfully hedonistic. The only criticism I would have with What’s Up with You is the predictability and repetition of lyrics within the track, whilst the lyrics are sensual they’re limited when it comes to how truly evocative and zealous they are which I suppose gives What’s Up with You a more innocent undertone and that’s never a bad thing. Given that Qwiz Richards was inspired to write the track about a high school crush, it’s safe to say his single hit the nail on the head when it come to sentimentality.
