When’s the last time you heard exceptional talent from an up and coming artist? If it has been a while and you feel like restoring your faith in the music scene, J.R. August’s single “Lead the Way” is a stellar choice.
Within the gentle swells of the piano melodies, you will feel pretty much every cell in your body drawn to the magnetism of the soundscape in Lead the Way. If I ever hear a track by J.R. August which doesn’t give me chills, I’d want to check for a pulse. But, there’s something uniquely striking about Lead the Way; the use of harmonics which builds the emotion right before the organ sets in to sprinkle an ominous overtone over the track is nothing short of aural alchemy. With music, you’re lucky if you get to feel one emotion as you listen to the track unfold, with Lead the Way you’re treated to a smorgasbord of feelings.
