I make it my business to scout out exceptional female-fronted acts, yet, I haven’t come across a stronger female voice in Ska since I first discovered the Selecter. The Alt Rock outfit Not From Concentrate have created a rhythmically hyped single with instrumentals that you’d have a hard time comparing to another artist around to date. Scientific Poet is just one of the tracks from their 2018 EP ‘Trapped Under Glass’, any fans of The Coathangers and Petrol Girls are sure to love Not From Concentrate’s cataclysmically upbeat yet earth-shattering sound.
The New York based powerhouse of artists pack in plenty of intricacy into the breakdowns, hooks and solos to treat us to that raw, unadulterated guitar-driven sound that is all too soon becoming a thing of the past.
