Narcissist – Lie to Me: A Debut Drop of Bass-Heavy Trap

They always say it’s dangerous to fall in love with narcissists, but with his first single release emerging Hip Hop artist Narcissist (AKA Julian Bihm) may have just created the exception to that rule. If you’re a fan of gritty realism riddled into Rap bars Narcissist may be about to become your favourite up and coming Hip Hop artist of 2018. The Houston, US based artist has found and edge to his Trap sound where so many contemporary artists before him has failed. The pure antagonistic aggression contained within his bars isn’t something you hear every day. And it’s glorious.

With solid, doom impounding, bass heavy Trap beats the tone is set for the aggressive fury contained within the vocals and lyrics to Lie to Me. The kicks, rattles and snares of the track add plenty of momentum to the beat which flows at the perfect mid-tempo pacing. There was a touch too much repetition within the track for me, yet as debut drops go, you really couldn’t ask for more.
