From the moment I hit play on up and coming Indie artist’s latest single “Las Playas En Mexico” it was perceptible that the hypnotically experimental track was never created for commercial mass ingestion. Instead, you could feel the catharsis of the artistic expression with each progression within the short but sweet single which exudes plenty of imagery; affirming that art and music aren’t all that inseparable after all. The mix of fuzzy guitars and friendly synth lines create the perfect platform for Milo Hunter’s harmonically mellifluous vocals.
If Las Playas En Mexico’s Alt Rock soundscape wasn’t so sugared it would almost resonate as Lynchian. So, what I’m trying to say is that it has all of the ingenuity and none of the ominous tonality. And I’m sure we can hope for all that and more from the rest of the singles contained within the artist’s upcoming EP “Zam-Zammah” which will be released April 13th.
