Matthew Bertram’s Melancholically Orchestral Debut

Not every artist and pianist makes their debut with a whopping 16-track album, yet it’s clear that Matthew Bertram is not your average composer. His ability to create a soundscape which would be of equal appeal to fans of orchestral classic compositions as it will be to fans of melancholically mused artists such as Radiohead certainly spells future commercial success for the breaking artist. “Ready” is just one of the songs to feature on the album, and whilst they may all stand as a testament to the diversity of Matthew Bertram’s style, Ready has its own uniquely beguiling charm.

The high production quality of Ready allows the track to flow with a cinematic amount of immersivity which sweeps you up in the subtle rises and falls of tonality. Although the lyrics are relatively few and far between within the single, their careful positionings throughout the track amplifies the emotive energy which swells from the acoustic instrumentals mixed seamlessly with electronic effect.
