“Complicated” is just one of the emotively candid singles on up and coming artist Leifer’s latest EP “Love & Genre”. The Indie singer-songwriter maintains a Pop sensibility within his sound, yet thanks to the Indie Folk instrumental arrangements you’re treated to a far more organic aural experience than you could expect from your average Pop track.
Complicated is one of those rare tracks which lyrically delves into the artist’s own experience, pain, and torment to offer an introspective which could never be accused of being vague or superficial. Yet, still there’s plenty of resonance to be found in the candid lyricism. While the production on the album may not be as great as Leifer’s talent, it’s tracks such as Complicated which prove that the artist has a massive amount of potential behind his evocative style.
