“Dope” is the latest release from up and coming Hip Hop artist LEGACI who has carved out her signature style through contemporary trap beats and a generous serving of unapologetic attitude.
The beat behind Dope keeps a steady rhythm and provides a solid yet intricate platform for LEGACI to lay down her Rap bars down upon. While LEGACI certainly has the right energy to make it as a Hip Hop artist, it’s easy to feel that the lyricism in Dope really didn’t do her style any justice. There have been plenty of artists versing about getting high, so it’s hard to find any expression in the track which resonates in a unique way.
I’d really love to hear raw and candid emotion from LEGACI, with her ability to wax lyrical, depth in the lyricism would really take LEGACI’s sound to the next level. Yet, that’s not to say that Dope isn’t an accessible hit. Considering that thousands of people have already found hype within the track which was released on February 15th, it’s inarguable that the artist has plenty of current appeal and future potential.
