Leah Speckhard – If You Died in the Morning: Playfully Angst-Driven Pop

After checking Leah Speckhard’s track If You Died in the Morning, I was quite frankly sickened by the fact it took 3 years for me to discover the sarcastically steeped Pop track. With an aura as enigmatic as artists such as Kate Nash and Lily Allen Leah should be a household name. Her ability to create a hook driven Pop anthem based upon her sardonic sense of humour won me over after just the first taste of her playfully angst driven Pop.

The New York based artist has a stunningly unique style to her sound against her soaring vocal ability. The record labels in NY should be ashamed of themselves for not jumping on Leah Spechard’s sound the moment it was created with If You Died in the Morning. There isn’t a track in the domineeringly resounding artists back catalogue that didn’t bleed pure aural alchemy.
