It is an incredibly rare experience to discover an artist with the ability to compose and perform a track which is simultaneously haunting and ambiently transient. Yet, that is exactly what up and coming Alt Pop EDM artist cooked up with her latest single “Draws the Flame”. Any fans of Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen are sure to appreciate the soundscape which offers stylised melancholy amongst pools of reverb and primally rhythmic instrumental arrangements.
Kathleen Robertson’s vocals in Draws the Flame may be incredibly poised, yet, passion still seeps into the single through the naturally magnetic draw of her vocal talent. From the first verse, you’re intrinsically captivated, throughout the progressions the waves of catharsis wash over you leading to the fade out. Yet, the connection with the single won’t end there.
