If you’re looking for Hip Hop which keeps the beat transcendentally sweet and the Rap bars authoritatively fresh, look no further than the hits which make up Joss Mike’s latest EP “Right in Your Backyard”. Whilst each of the 5 tracks on the EP are as smooth as the last, it’s “Scuff My Kyrie which stands as a testament to the up and coming artist’s talent and charisma. In place of self-aggrandized bravado, you’re treated to Joss’s playfully inviting Rap style. Yet, with no clear lyrical direction, it was a little hard to let the track fully resonate. But considering the clear-cut, seamlessly polished beat behind Scuff My Kyrie, the track is all too easy to slip into. Joss’s command of rhythm when it comes to the meter of his lyrics and the orchestration of his rounded beats isn’t to be underestimated.
